    PreOp EKG Abnormal

Yes, I also had several issues with abnormal EKG and cardiac PET scan (stress test); FINALLY, after heart catheter, got the ALL CLEAR to have lap band surgery but it delayed my surgery for about 6 months. I guess it is better to be safe, than sorry. Good Luck ~

    Question: Unflavored Protein???

I also vote for UNJURY. I use it each morning in my orange juice because I am too tight to eat. It is my FAVORITE protein powder!

    Ugh!

This happened to me recently; esophagus spams . . felt WORSE than child labor pains; I had to go in for a slight UNfill and the pain did subside within two days. Please check with your doctor ---> do NOT ignore the signs your body gives you. ~ Good Luck ~

Can a banded person take Celebrex?

I agree with you HONK: my primary care physician has helped me MORE with band issues than my surgeon has -- she knows a TON about it!

What kind of eating disorder do you have?

I am addicted to SUGAR and CARBS . . . I think I could snort pixie sticks just for a sugar rush! The experts says everyone has at least one addiction --->mine is SUGAR
  6. Personally, I am a BIG fan of the UNflavored unjury Protein powder. You can add it to anything and everything. I had a VERY difficult time trying to drink most of the flavored Protein drinks / powders. Good luck !
  7. My doctor and nutritionist do not have any set "rules" about when I drink before/after meals. I think that they must subscribe to the logic behind the new research. Best to follow what your doctor orders.

Can a banded person take Celebrex?

I had a similar issue recently; my primary care physician is aware that I have a lap band; she told me to take Celebrex until the inflammation went away; 2 weeks MAX; she did not say it was something I needed to take long-term. I agree with the above posts to check with YOUR doctors, because we are all different.

    Fills

My doctor recommends every 6 weeks; he will occasionally consider every 4 weeks, but not sooner; he does NOT do the "fluro fill" which I think is an excellent idea!

How many cc's is your band?

I had lap band surgery in April 2012; I have an AP Large Lap Band that will hold 14 cc; my band currently has 9 and I am NOT in "Green Zone" I did ask my surgeon what happens when I get near 14 and still do not have restriction and his exact words were "that never happens" ~ Good luck on your journey ~

    unfill

I had an UNfill today and I asked my doctor this question (he doesn't offer the information); and he said YES, liquids for 2 days

    Tightness in chest

I am thinking this is MY story too . . feels like a spasm in my chest area; I just got to the green zone. How did your doctor treat your issue. I hope it was NOT a complete UNfill. I don't want to start over.

    Tightness in chest

I wonder if this is what is wrong with me? I am scheduled to see my doctor AGAIN on Monday. How did you diagnose the issue? This pain in my chest area literally makes me bend over ~ whew ~ too much like child labor

    How full is your band??

I have an AP Large Lap Band, with my surgery in April 2012; I currently have 9 cc in a 14 cc band and just hit "Green Zone: THIS month. . . too long in Bandster HE** ---> glad to be leaving HE**!

    Time Between Fills

my lap band surgeon prefers to fill at every 6 weeks; but he will consider it at every 4 weeks . . . but not any sooner than that.

    Paleo Diet for Bandsters

Have you watched the documentary on NetFlix entitled, "Forks Over Knives"? This plan in the video is described by doctor's who manage patients with some serious health issue which all seem to disappear when they adopt and follow a "whole foods, plant-based diet". My primary care physician asked me to watch it when I told her I was considering lap band surgery.

    Soft food?

This website has some excellent recipes for "mushies" . . . try it out (LINK: http://www.lapband.com/en/mylapband/recipe_box/my_recipes/)
  20. I do not have any personal experience as to what a slip feels like; but it is my understanding that you will have severe reflux, heart burn and lots of vomiting. Make a commitment today to stop all sodas; I was addicted to diet coke and went cold turkey. You can do it too. Also, I made a monthly appointment for my doctor since my surgery so I have to check in with him and get a fill. I have an AP Large Lap Band that will hold 14 cc; I am at 9 cc and just hit the Green Zone ---> which took me 9 months ~ whew ~
  21. I agree with the above posts; I am VERY sorry that you are struggling. I believe this is a period of time we must all endure known as Bandster HE**. I had lap band surgery on April 2012, and just got to the Green Zone. . . without restriction, it will seem like another diet. Please be careful about the soda as carbonation and the band DO NOT get along well. This can lead to issues with your band.

    Tightness in chest

I hope everything works out okay for you; I am having similar issues but my surgeon still did a fill for me on Wednesday.

8 hours after fill and Im miserable.

I agree with the above posts; it is a fine line to be in the Green Zone and not being able to have enough liquids to stay hydrated. I have always found it very interesting that we all have a lap band and our surgeons do everything so different.
  25. I am not sure if this will help you, or not. But, I have an AP Large Lap Band that will hold 14 cc; just had a fill on Wednesday, Jan 9th ===> I am now at 9 cc. I ask my surgeon about it. He said that it depends upon your current weight. The example he used was a 9 cc fill in a 14 cc band is different for a person that weighs 200 pounds than it is for a person that weighs 100 pounds.
