  1. UNjury UNflavored is all I can tolerate; add it to ANYTHING
  2. Are you still in the mushie stage? I can relate . . . this Bandster HE** is terrible! Hang in there!

    Losing my hair....still!!!

I understand your frustration. I have also experienced a LOT of hair loss since lap band surgery in April 2012; my husband has to unclog my shower drain once a week . . . VERY embarrasing. This was NEVER an issue before. I do take multi vitamins and biotin; I went to my family doctor and had extensive lab work; everything came back "normal" . . . very frustrated with this issue

    What's your goal weight?

My starting weight was 247; I am also 5' 4"; my goal weight is 140; this is the number that both my lap band surgery and my primary care physician agreed to; personally, at this point, I would be happy with 150
  5. I wasted a TON of money on protein products from my doctor's office, GNC and Walmart. The only protein powder I can tolerate is the UNflavored UNjury. I add it to foods / drinks. Each scoop has 21 grams of protein. Give it a try
  6. TO: I feel like you just posted my story. I was also banded in April 2012 and I also teach school. I have had SEVERAL fills; currently have 9 cc's in a 14 cc band and still NOT in the darn "Green Zone" ---> if that even really exists (?) I just cannot seem to keep up with all of these rules 100% of the time; and still struggle day to day. I KNOW the answers . . . I read a lot of other people's post, I need to eat less, eat right, and exercise, but I thought the band would at least make me feel full so I could do all the right things. Obviously, if I could do all the right things, I would never have needed the band to begin with. I am really starting to fill like a total "Debbie Downer"
  7. Yes, a LOW protein intake could possibly cause you to eat more and be hungry more often; can lead to hair loss; it may also cause your weight loss efforts to stall. good luck

    Flavorless Protein Powder

    A BIG "Y - E - S " to the unflavored UNjury . . . it is the ONLY protein powder I can tolerate
  9. LadyMaggie

    You have to try these

I have also wasted on TON of money on protein products from GNC, Walmart and my doctor's office; the ONLY one I can tolerate is the UNflavored UNjury. . . add it to o.j., yogurt, milk ---> it's great; with about 21 grams of protein in one scoop.

    Hello From Louisville

Nope, still NOT in the "GREEN zone"; this journey has been 1 step forward; 2 steps backward; had to get an "UNfill" and I think he took too much OUT; go back on January 9th. How are things on your end?

maybe im just bad at math...

I also struggle with the math to get to 60 or 65 grams of protein; so I started adding the UNflavored UNJURY protein powder to foods I eat; I also can no longer tolerate the shakes. So, this is the only way I know how to keep the calories in check while getting to the magic protein number each day.

    Ban Hell

Yes, the Bandster HE** is the worst part of it! I am at 8 months and still seeking the elusive green zone. I really had NO idea it would take this long to get to a decent restriction ~ WHEW ~!
  17. I started VERY near 250 (@ 247); current weight is 204; the first goal I set for myself is to get to "onederland"; what has surprised me the most is I feel like I am melting (inches disappear) but the scale has been slow to move; I just bought a pair of jeans in 16; shirts are XL; my goal for Spring (May 2013) is size 14 pants and large shirts. . . I think this takes long that I thought it would. So, I am not going to get disappointed or frustrated until I have hit my one year anniversary date. ~ Good Luck to ALL ~

    Shakes Or No Shakes?

I agree with many of the above posts; I am TOO tight in the morning; I am only comfortable with a protein shake; I use fat free milk; I use the UNjury brand protein; I am happy knowing that I am getting in some protein to start off my day.
  20. I agree that you can expect to have up to six fills the first year; unless your doctor will be more aggresive than mine was

Will Er Know How To Take Fluid Out?

I agree call your doctor; they are on-call and can deal with these type of situations
  22. I agree with the above posts; also my Primary Care Physician would only agree to Lap Band; she was very much AGAINST changing your anatomy; she said you are trading one health issue (obesity) for other health issues. So, I followed her advice. I am very happy about it. Also, the band can be taken out or reversed.

Activa yogurt, the fiber gummies, and a stool softener will help work to keep you regular

This Isnt How I Thought Id Feel!

Lisa: I feel like your post was also my life story and experience; i have lost 47 pounds and not one family member or co-worker has ever commented on it; I am at 8 months post-op; thought the progress would be more; but at least I have not yet gained

    Questions About Foods To Eat/drink

Yes, I have tried almost all of the Bariatric Advantage supplement (vitamins) and protein powders; could not tolerate; about all I can use is UNflavored UNjury
