    Abnormal Ekg??

I had an abnormal EKG, then and abnormal PET (cardiac stress) test, which then lead to a heart catheter... in the end I received the "ALL CLEAR" and had lap band surgery but WHEW that was a lot of extra testing ~ good luck ~

Things You Can't Do Once Banded

taste tester for new cola products . . . not a good profession for lap band
  4. I wish I could change my band to shorten the "bandster he**" period.
  5. I am in Bardstown, KY; My doctor is Jeff Allen (Louisville); My lap band surgery was April 9th; my first fill was on June 6th; next appointment (fill) will be on July 25th.

Anyone From April Had Banded Filled?

I am right there with you~! I was banded on April 9th and had my first fill on June 6th. My next fill isnt' scheduled until July 25th. My doctor is VERY conservative; he put nothing in band during surgery and will only fill every 6 to 8 weeks. I have lose 31 pounds and I joined Anytime Fitness. I just wish I knew before surgery that it was going to take at least 4 months to get to the restriction stage. This is something that was NOT mentioned during my seminar or pre-op visits and I know my doctor and nutritionist sure didn't mention it. I know that it did not take me 6 months to put on this weight. But, I am getting tired of everyone saying "Wow you had lab band surgery in April. . . any regrets". . . . will power is fading F-A-S-T-

    April Bandsters!

I feel exactly the same way; my surgery date was April 9th; I have only had one fill; no real restriction; I did join a gym and work out daily; my weight loss is 35 pounds; but I feel like I have done the work on my own as I have no restrictions; I have lost my weight in my face and chest . . . none in my tummy
  8. I agree with your post. I felt like I was very educated about the lap band process. But, I did NOT understand that it was going to take 4 to 6 months to get to restriction. My doctor is VERY conservative and will only fill every 6 weeks. I had surgery on April 9th (he put nothing in the band during surgery, which I was unaware of); my first fill was on June 6th (he only put in 3 ccs) and I have NO restriction and the will power is fading FAST. I did join a gym and I am giving it the ole' college try. I feel like I am doing all of this on my own and will be glad when this band starts to do its part! WHEW

Trying To Get Back On Track

I feel the same way. . . I have struggled with my weight for the past 20 years and nothing worked. It is hard to make good choices every day. I know we are in "lap band he**" but my will power fads quickly. I have never had an alcohol or drug addict but I realize now how much I am / was addicted to FOOD. I am trying to figure out how to change all of these bad habits I have so this band and I can work on this together. Good post~
  11. Good post . . . misery loves company and I am right there with you. I had lap band surgery on April 9th; first fill on June 6th and NO restriction yet. People will reply that we are in "bandster he**" until we "get restriction" I am just hoping I get out of HE** on my next fill on July 25th. I have very little willpower and it is fading fast. If I could keep perfect food journals, exercise and eat perfect and I would not need the band. I know it is a tool and cannot do all of the work but this is worse than I had expected. I breezed through pre=op diet and surgery. I should be happy with a 30 pound weight loss but I am mostly just FRUSTRATED>

    Emotional Regret

Yes, I love this website but it helps me the most to hear about how to deal with challenges . . . I am apparently currently in "bandster he**". I asked myself the other day did I get a $40,000.00 surgery REALLY . . . what if it NEVER works ???

    Frusterated

I am RIGHT there with ya' ! I had lap band surgery on April 9th and my first fill on June 6th. I have NO restriction and still have hunger. It is easy to get frustrated and I am thinking about changing my screen name to "Debbie Downer"

    Carbonated Drinks

If You Had To Choose Just One...

This is a great post; I have often wondered the same thing. I am not at the point of considering surgery but I think my first pick is going to be a tummy tuck; also flabby after losing some weight and c-section. My second is going to be either arms (brachio) or breast lift.

Anyone From April Had Banded Filled?

I had lap band surgery on Aprilo 9th; my first fill was on June 6th . . . also 3 cc's; my next fill is scheduled for July 25th. I have lost 35 pounds. Sounds like we are on the same schedule

    Lap-Band Hell I Guess?

Thank you for the post. I have only had one fill and do not think I really have any restrictions. The willpower is fading fast. My second fill is scheduled for July 25th.

    Lettuce?

I had lap band surgery this year on April 9th and my first fill on June 6th (don't think I am in the "green" zone yet). But, I made a phone call to my Nutrionist today to ask her if I could have a tossed salad and she said "YES". I did not have any issues. ~ Good Luck ~

    Some Days...

I feel exactly the same way, especially during PMS; I had lap band surgery this year on April 9th and my first fill on June 6th. I tell myself all of the time that I have "only lost 31 pounds" but I could NOT have done that without lap band surgery. My second fill is on July 25th and I am counting down until the days . . . . ~ GOOD LUCK ~

    Pizza

YES, thin crust (VERY crispy pizza) would be okay. I do not have any issues with the whole wheat pita bread. Good luck~
  22. I had lap band surgery on April 9th. I have lost 31 pounds. I feel like I have been a good trooper for the past 9 weeks. I had my first fill on June 6th and my second fill is scheduled for July 25th. However, my will power is fading and I am hungry. . . trying not to get frustrated. Just curious how long did lap bandster h-e-*-* last for you?

    Bariatric Advantage

You can order it online. I could NOT make myself drink their protein powder drinks. I tried the chocolate one and the orange cream. I use their vitamins. Good Luck

Crystal Light - Is There An Alternative?

I like the "FUZE" drinks; they make one that is very low calorie and low sugar. The crystal light gives me terrible heart burn. My second favorite is the sugar free kool-aid (grape). Good Luck~
  25. Just curious if anyone uses products with sugar alcohol. I do watch my sugar intake (very low) but would like to try Russell Stover's sugar free candy line. They are made with Splenda; have 0 sugar; but 23 g of "sugar alcohol"
