    August Sleevers?

I was sleeved on August 29th. I don't really have any pain from my incisions. I've been walking and climbing a flight of stairs a few times a day for exercise. Then on Monday evening, I started getting these horrible pains in my lower back. The only thing that takes the edge off is walking and laying down is a nightmare. I've never had any back problems before so I really don't know what's happening. It's like being in full blown labor. It gets worse at night so I haven't been sleeping either. I went back to my doc and they did blood and urine tests but all is clear. Anybody have an idea what this could be?

    7 days post!

I was sleeved on 08/29. I was doing so well. My pain was almost nonexistent. Then, suddenly last night,I got these excruciating pains in my lower back. I can only describe it as feeling like full blown hard core labor pains. I'm back in the hospital now to see if they know what's going on. The pain gets better with walking and worse with laying. I'm having no problems with my sleeve. This pain is all below the naval. Any ideas what it could be? Gas maybe?
  4. Hey everyone! I got my sleeve on Thursday, 08/29. The surgery went well, taking only about an hour. I was able to start sipping on water that same day. I'm allowed 20ml every 20 minutes. Here, they keep you in the hospital for at least 5 days. So, I'm still here. I finally got to have some broth for dinner and I don't feel so good. I feel a bit nauseated and pressure. I am afraid I had too much. I didn't measure it but I sipped it by the spoonful very slow. I don't know how I will know when I'm full. I felt fine until about 30 minutes after I ate.

    August 2013 Roll Call

I had my surgery yesterday. All went well. It only took about an hour, which surprised me. I spent the night in ICU and I'm now finally in my own room. Already drinking water and did my first leak test. The pain isn't horrible so far. I hope all the other 8/29 sleeves are doing well too.
  6. Mine is also on the 29th. I'm not freaking out yet. It'll probably happen when I get up on the table. Anyway, I wish you the best.
  7. I can't say yet if they help or not. My surgery will be on Thursday 8/29. The surgeons here swear my them though. They do make them for the arms and require them after an arm lift surgery. Mine are actually 3 pieces; 2 thigh high and 1 shorts. The shorts are supposed to help with supporting the lower tummy.

    Pre-op Diet & Cheating!

My surgery will be on August 29th. Original date was 22nd but it had to be delayed a week. I was required to do a 3 week liquid diet. This includes protein shakes, plain yogurt, quark, and soups. All has to be puréed and low fat low carb. Because of the delay, I'm starting my 4th week today. For me, it hasn't been so bad because I can get fairly creative with soups. I've lost 14 ponds so far.

    August 2013 Roll Call

Next Thursday, August 29th is my date.
  10. Hello everyone. My surgery was scheduled for Thursday 22/8 but it has now been postponed. I live in Germany and sometimes things get complicated. My surgeon requires his patients to wear compression stockings during and after the surgery. I was measured a month ago for them. When I went to pick them up yesterday, I was told that they hadn't been ordered yet. I cried. The company that makes them is located in Bavaria and will need several days to get them to me. That means Friday. I called my doctor's office and we are now hoping for Monday 26/8. I'm trying not to be so upset but I've been fighting for this surgery for a year and a half. I've been on a low carb low fat purée diet for 3 weeks. I have lost 14 pounds so, I can't complain too much about the diet. It's not horrible, just boring.

    Omg

I can't wait to be unseen as I'm walking down the street. I long for the day that I blend in with the crowd and no longer have to see shocked expressions and hear the gasps and whispers. The adults are worse than the kids because they should know better. I look forward to going into whatever establishment I want to even if the chairs have arms. I want to go to Disney land and ride roller coasters and be able to walk the entire park. Most of all, I want to feel good about being me!

    6 Month Psychotherapy?

I'm really frustrated. I received a letter today from my insurance company saying that I will have to do 6 months of psychotherapy before they will further consider my request for VGS. They only required one session with the nutritionalist and a 6 month supervised diet isn't required. My BMI is 68! My doctor wrote, in his letter to the insurance company, that he didn't find it necessary to have any kind of psychotherapy. I'm really annoyed at the thought of having to wait 6 more months or longer. The waiting time to see a therapist around here us sometimes 2 or 3 months. My knees are not going to tolerate this weight much longer. I have no cartilage left and every step is agony. I've lost 50 pounds on my own since January but I need to lose 200 pounds before they can do any kind of knee replacement. I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard. I've seen here that most people only have to do an evaluation. Has anyone else been required to do 6 months of psychotherapy? Maybe there is a way out of it?
