Kyrie, well if it helps to ease your stress any, I woke up this morning feeling fine. I could have went to work today, but since it's sunday I get one more day off I'll say some prayers for you, but I think you'll do fine. I think Mom's get better faster just cause we don't have the option not too...LOL
  3. I'm so sorry your first 5 days have been so bad. Just remember everyday will get easier!!!
  4. Costco the 18 pack is 25, Sams club the 12 pack is 18. But I have also seen them pretty cheap on Amazon. If you aren't local to a store I would definitely watch Amazon. They aren't always cheaper on there but if they have a sale you can stock up pretty well.

Ok, I'm going to give this a try. I keep saying I like to journal but the reality is that I end up with all kinds of journals that are started but I never finish them. So maybe it's not that I like journaling...maybe I just like new journals! LOL So on Wednesday March 6th, I was sleeved!!! I previously had a lapband in 2008 and had to have it removed in 2012 due to a profound slip. Since then I have seen 3 different surgeons and switched insurance companies but I finally ended up with my wonderful surgeon. I had to to down to San Francisco to have surgery (from Sacramento) but I'm totally glad I did. I was in great hands. I can't say enough good things about the nurses and staff and California Pacific Medical Center. This was by far my best surgery. at 6 a.m. they started my IV (painless I might add) and at 7:30 I was in the OR. My husband got to stay with me right up until I went into the OR. I got up on the table (burrrr) and started having a conversation with my PA about beating her weight loss goal before surgery, the anethesia guy says I'm going to give you something to relax you, just think about being on a beach. And that's it!! Next think I know a nurse is saying "Vicki? can you wake up a bit?" I can honestly say that I never had pain above a 5 on their little scale. Now whether that's due to my surgeons great skill, my insane pain tolerance or really good drugs I couldn't tell you. But it was relatively painless. I spend the first day pretty groggy and in and out of it. Within a couple of hours I was out walking the halls. I did have a rough night the one night I spent in the hospital and I was very nauseous and had an episode of dry heaves. But the nurses were there with the good drugs and it passed pretty quickly. The following morning, I was ready to go home. I was walking, peeing, farting, all the stuff the nurses like to hear. So they gave me my gourmet breakfast of chicken broth and hot tea. The PA came in and released me and I was headed home. I have spent the last couple of days sipping everything. I have discovered that warmer liquids go down much easier, however sugar free popcicles are the bomb-diggity!! Yesterday I managed about 60 oz of liquids including one protein drink and today I'm shooting for 2 protein drinks. I have been able to go to the store with my husband and go for a walk to the park. A little bit more everyday!! The only complaints I have right now are a nasty reaction to the dermabond, and a seriously sore throat from having a tube down there. The pictures were taken 3 days before surgery. My Heaviest weight was 281(which was about Christmas), These pics were 260. My official weight before surgery was 257 and as of this morning I'm at 254.
  6. Hey Pammie, I totally know what you mean! The first couple of days I was sure there was no way I could do it But I have discovered that warm liquids go down easier than cold. So by drinking warm tea broth etc. it definitely helps. I am also drinking decaff no sugar iced tea (well lukewarm not iced) Yesterday I managed to get down 48 oz of liquids plus 1 - 11 oz protein drink. So almost 60 oz. which I guess is ok for day 2. I just feel like all i'm doing is drinking. I keep hearing every day gets easier so I'm really hoping!!!
  7. Well I had surgery Wednesday and I'm going back Monday. And I'm sure ill be fine. I'm still tired about 1/2 thru the day but I have a sit down job so I'm not too worried. Am I hungry? Well its hard to explain. I guess its hunger but its a very different feeling than before. Its more like a little nudge saying. ..."hey you need to get something in here." Where before it was an overwhelming urge to put something in my mouth.

Going Going Gone....Well sorta...., a weight loss surgery photo album by Vicki0618 on BariatricPal. 5 photos in Member Photo Gallery.
  9. Three days from getting my sleeve! I was banded back in 2008 and had to have it removed in 2012 due to a profound slip. So I has been 2 full years since I had the thing and the surgeon still had to remove some scar tissue left from the band. I know some surgeons will do the band removal and sleeve at the same time, some prefer to wait in between to give the stomach time to heal. It's going to depend on your surgeon and how much damage has been done by the band. So far, this surgery has been much easier than the band. Good luck as you go forward!!!
  10. I'm home....3 days post op! Doing very well. I am having some sort of reaction to the dermabond glue they used on the incisions and they are big red and puffy. Not oozy at all. Took a pic and sent to the dr they said it's a reaction so I'm using benedril to combat that. Other than that I'm not in any sort of discomfort. Actually this surgery was WAY easier than the band placement or removal. I was able to sleep in my own bed first day home!! Just sipping sipping sipping....I was able to get in one Protein drink yesterday and part of one today. I have found that warm liquids work much better than cold. Each day gets better!!!! Oh and for any of you wondering....I did gain 5 lbs in the hospital from the IV fluids and gas they pumped into me. However as of this morning (3 days later) I have dropped all 5 plus 2 extra!!!
  11. Me too....me too!! I have a 6 AM check in too! Surgery at 7:30. IThanks for the reminder...gotta go shave my legs!
  12. Tomorrow is my day! Surgery scheduled for 7:30 AM at CA Pacific Medical Center is San Francisco. I'm on all liquids today, milk of magnesia tonight (oh boy) and I have to leave my house by 4 AM to be in San Francisco by 6 AM. Don't think I'll get much sleep tonight. I'm really excited, but also nervous! Wish me luck!!
  13. That's what my husband said, "just don't say anything". I guess as long as I don't have a fever or congested lungs I should be fine....Maybe I'm just getting nervous...
  14. It's just a head cold...mostly drippy nose and scratchy throat. I don't have a fever and my chest isn't congested but I'm worried about showing up at the hospital and them saying "sorry can't do it" My husband keeps telling me not to worry that if I don't have a fever I should be fine but I'm so close I'm taking 2000 mg Vitamin C and Zinc every 3 hours. Anybody else have surgery with a cold???
  15. I'm really hoping I'm one of those that have an easy recovery. I am going to travel to CO by plane exactly 2 weeks after my surgery. My sisters getting married, so the trips been planned for awhile. My Dr. thinks I'll be fine that far out, he says people fly in for surgery and fly out within a few days. I'll just be getting to soft foods so I'm sure that will be a challenge, but I'm staying with family so that should make it easier. I wasn't going to postpone the surgery (I've waited long enough) and I'm certainly not missing my sisters wedding!! So I'm going on faith that I'm going to be good!!!
  16. Wonderful Decision!!! I had to have my band removed after 2 years of so-so weight loss and LOTS of throwing up, because it slipped and completely blocked my stomach. Now here I am 1 week from getting my sleeve and I'm with the previous poster. I am hoping that all the band to sleeve revision people are right and the sleeve turns out to be all the band promised!!! Good Luck on your journey!
  17. Love the color of the blue shirt...but you look really good in the dress!
  18. Right there with you Blue...Mine is scheduled for the 6th...that's one week from Wednesday....ONE WEEK!!!! I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I've lost the weight, done the preops, the hospital called today for Pre registration and it's starting to sink in...starting to....
  19. Hi Bringiton!!! First of all...love the name. I am also a March 6th sleevette!! Whoot-Whoot!!! Two weeks from tomorrow! I'm in Northern California, but grew up all over the place! I recently remarried (less than 2 years) and my husband is truly my soul mate! My husband and I have 7 kids between us...sounds like we have a few things is common...Kids! Ours range from 21 to 8. I work full time as an accounting assistant for a moving company. And my hobby, which is what I'm doing to keep me from eating is quilting. I have been heavy most of my adult life (and even as a kid, I can remember buying "pretty-plus" sized clothes) and I'm really looking forward to just being able to participate in my life with my new hubby!!!
  20. Sunflowers, just think 2 weeks from today and you'll be there! That's only 14 days!!! You can do anything for 14 days! I'm March 6th, so I'm right there with you. Luckily I don't have a liquid pre-op diet but I am definitely pulling out the last of my will power to get through!! Keep it up! It will all be worth it!
  21. Oh, I'll definitely check out that show....if I can find it! I love watching that kind of thing!
  22. What kind of pre-op diet are you doing? Luckily my Dr. doesn't require weeks of liquids like others so I've sorta been doing mine since Christmas. Super Low Carb, low cal. I actually did really well for the first 3-4 weeks. But now that I'm down to 3 weeks left I feel like I'm white-knuckling it, everything is sending me over the edge and I'll be super glad when it's done. My secret is Sugar Free Jello and Sugar Free Gum. Just remember it's only temporary! You can do this!!!
  23. SR910...I'm right there with you. My surgery is scheduled for March 6th and I'm super excited...and super nervous. I mean this is really IT, no turning back once I do this. I KNOW without a doubt that I want to do this, but I've been hearing that little voice in my head say "but you've lost 20 since Christmas..maybe you don't realy need it" and "what if, something goes wrong" But you know what, my husband always tells me "Fear or Faith"? Gotta choose one or the other, and I am not going to live my life in Fear! So here we go....3 weeks from today and we will both be on the other side!!! Want to get on the roller coaster with me??? I hear it's an amazing ride!!!
  24. Mini Me...I can relate to the worry. Mine is scheduled 2 weeks before I fly to CO for my sisters wedding. I'm sure we will both do fine!!
  25. Yay!!! Pammie, We will share the date!!
