  1. I highly recommend joining a support group. There are several of us in the North Dallas area that are regularly attending two or three!! It's fun' date=' imformative and believe it or not, there will be people who want to talk to YOU and ask questions. There is one that is more formal, with speakers, the one PhD that is there, he is great. The other two are more informal, a nurse and dietitian are there to answer questions, but we go around the room and ask each other questions. I started attending ONE a couple of months prior to surgery, that is when I got addicted to going!!!

Head games....OMG, no truer words have ever been spoken!!![/quote']

I never went to any support type meetings although it was strongly suggested. I see now more than ever I need it. My year anniversary was March 7th. Although my initial goal was to fit into a size 8, fitting into a size 4 is so much better. While I'm still in my 4's, I notice they are getting a bit snug. I know if I start exercising and focusing on what I eat, it'll get easier. It's just putting that knowledge to work that's hard. Where can I find meetings in my area? I'm near Richardson. How would WW meetings work since I'm now considered normal.

  2. What in particular are tested by your surgeon during bloodwork? I thought all Vitamin levels as well as Protein was measured. I had my regular physician run test and they only tested my Vitamin D & B12 levels which were normal. I am coming up on my year anniversary and decided not to go back to my surgeon, Dr Nicholson, for my year follow-up which would have included bloodwork. While Dr Nicholson is a phenomenal doctor, I feel my follow-ups are a waste of time for the $25 I have to pay. Plus my experience with the office staff pre-op was not the best.

  3. I was one of the unlucky few that experienced hunger from early on. Reading the boards, I gathered it was just acid. After taking 3 different types of acid medications, I ruled out acid. My appetite is still smaller so I'm content with the hunger I guess.

  4. I have gotten out of the habit of tracking calories but I was averaging 1200 calories previously and still losing. At my six month follow-up appointment, the PA suggested I stay closer to 1000 calories since I still had 5lbs to go before reaching my goal of 140. I didn't feel comfortable with that suggestion knowing I get faintish during spin class when my calories are that low. I guess you have to find what works for you.
