New York Bariatric Group is fantastic.. I’ve used Dr.Garber and Dr. Holliver but im sure all the surgeons in their practice are fantastic. I’ve been with that practice since 2012 and they are great from the office staff, nurses, pa’s, and surgeons :)

I forgot to say I’m in Long Island:)

1 hour ago, NYCNomad said:@Staceyb2121 &@Missrut718 - what has been your overall experience with NYBG? Dr Holliver seems great but I’m not a fan of the nutritionalist. Also, how did you feel going directly to purée after surgery? It was a bit much for me and I stuck with shakes and yogurt. Adding Soup and eggs this week.
I have been a patient of NYBG for about 6 years and that office has been nothing less then fantastic, I can't say enough good things. Of course, I don't really see the doctors unless its surgery or an endoscopy but the staff is great. I really just see the PA, Nicole. I also saw Sharon for the nutrition consult and for my first follow up. I email a lot and my questions are always answered pretty quickly. As for soft foods, I didn't have any problems and stayed on all Protein soft for the month and just started solid protein,

Hi Everyone,
My Lapland removal was just approved by the insurance company. I was just wondering how the recovery is for the Lapland removal? I am trying to anticipate how many days of work I need to take off.
Thank you in advance

Wow!! Congrats you look awesome and I bet you feel great! Are you working out and how often? I just started my journey and I am looking for tips and suggestions to help.I started going to the gym very early in my journey. I workout about5-6 days a week for about 1- 1 1/2 hours and it has truly made a difference in my weight loss. I have been doing a combination of strength training and cardio. It's crazy the things I couldn't do in the beginning but can do now!

I started going to the gym very early in my journey and built a strong support system there. I truly believe that working out has helped me so much. You can do it! wow wow wow!!!You look incredible!
BTW' date=' I noticed you don't have loose skin on your arms, did you do anything in specific? toning or anything?[/quote']
Thank you! Since the very beginning I have been going to the gym 5-6 days a week doing a combination of strength training and cardio. I do have loose skin but it really isn't that bad. As far as weights go I work with a personal trainer and learned a whole bunch of whole body exercises that I enjoy. I change it up all the time!

One year ago today took the first step to change my life. I got the lapband and started my journey to loose weight and change my life. The last year has been a challenge to say the least but today I stand here 115 pounds lighter and amazed with all I accomplished this year. I started my journey at 314lbs. Today I weigh 199lbs, and still aiming for goal:)

I always carry a bootle on the crystal light squeezes in my purse. If I would like to have a drink with friends I order vodka and Water and then just add my crystal light. It's always safe a d doesn't upset my stomach. They're a bunch of favors too

It took me 6 month but that was because of insurance weigh ins. So I would say it depends on your insurance unless your self pay.
