    Hello

Hi, My name is Jessica. I was banded Jan. 18th 2007. So far I have lost 21 lbs. I just had my first fill March 15th. I also miss my soda, but I got myself addicted to homemade Lipton Ice tea. I keep it unsweetened in the fridge and sweeten in with splenda( I actually use the Great Value walmart brand) in my glass. I drink it all day and it's 0 cal's. I actually can't stand the taste of actual sugar anymore, lol. 192/171/130

    I am on my way!!!

Hello, Grats on your surgery date. I was banded Jan 18th 2007 in Mexico By Dr Kuri. I have lost 21 lbs so far and just had my first fill March 15th. I love the lap-band life, but the first 4-6 weeks are hell. Just to let ya know, lol. BUT IT IS SO WORTH IT... I feel like a new person. Not just because I'm losing weight, but because I have energy and knowing I have the band encourages me to want to eat healthy and exercise more. It does change you for the better inside and out.... GOOD LUCK!! Jessica 192/171/130

    After first fill

Well, I just got my first fill on March 15th and lost 10 lbs since then. They don't lie when they say chew chew chew. I was careful before my fill, but after the fill you need to be even more careful. Even though it's my first fill, it's working. I can only about about 1/2 c of food. I am so glad that it actually feels like it's working, because I have paid cash for all of this and I thought I just wasted almost 9,000.00. But it's going good now. I started at 192, I'm now 170 and wnt to be around 130. I don't want to be a rail, I want curves. I have started walking now that the weather is nice and hope to start bring out my horses to exercise a little more. Eventhough I think cleaning stalls feels like you burned all the food you ate in the last week, lol!!! Doc, says that's not enough, lol. My doctor says that avg person takes 5,000 steps in a day which equals 5 miles. WOW!! I'm so under that, lol... So I went and bought a stair stepper, which is so hard. You want to tone your legs that is what to buy. I used it for the first time and I woke up the next day with the legs and butt soooooooo sore, lol! Note to self, EAT SLOW< TAKE YOUR TIME AND FIND THAT SOFT SPOT:p

What does it feel like when YOU swallow food?

Hi, my name is Jessica and I was banded Jan 18, 2007. I understand what you mean. I just had my first fill last week. If i eat to fast or take big bites i get a pain in my chest and it will get stuck. Before my fill I could feel my esofogus tring to pass it thru. Now, it's coming back up, lol. I eat slow and only eat my 1/2-3/4, but I can feel it go down. I wait a minute then take another bite to make sure that fit that bit and i can take another one. I foound that I have a soft spot. I tend to burp (LOL):embarassed: right when i'm full. That lets me know i got about one more bit then i'm done. But i can feel it go down.
  5. Hi, my name is Jessica and I was banded Jan 18th. I was restricted for about 3 weeks then I was starving. Every time I got hungry I would eat a fat free fudge sicle, jello or fat free pudding. It is so important not to cheat before your first fill, because it needs to heal and you don't want the band to slip. It's so hard though, not to cheat. That 6 weeks was hell. I'm now in my 8th week, just had my first fill last week, and i'm loving it. I can only eat about 1/2 c and lost 10 lbs since the fill last week. I did lose 20 lbs in the first 3 weeks, but after the restriction, i got hungry, and i ate, and i was i didn't. But, i'm back on track. In my soft food stage I ate alot of mashed potatos and gravy. I love that I can eat carbs now and still lose weight. Keep up the good work. the first 6 weeks is hell, but it's worth it in the long run. It's the healing of your band right now that matters. I talked to a lady that paid for her band, like I did, she ate like nuts and her band slipped and had to pay 5,000.00 to get it adjusted and had to start all over again.
