  1. Call me a rebel. I try to stay away from fried foods, but my NUT says that it's not a bad thing in moderation. So for the most part I cook at home and I don't fry. But when I eat out- I eat it sometimes. Fried foods were never my particular vice so it doesn't scare me to eat it. Filler foods like rice, pasta, and bread were my vices so those I am scared to death of! Last week my sister made rice with my favorite sauce and I ate a lil. It went down fine like most things but now I am scared to eat rice again. Rice and bread still go down easy for me so I have to treat it like the plague to keep losing.

    Best Dinner

Yum! That'll be my next night out.

    Chewing?

I chew and chew and chew. It has just become a way of life. I feel better when I do because since I way so little I let the food linger in my mouth longer. Also its better for my digestion
  5. Get off the diet. I read many of these diets sleevers have and I think its unrealistic long term and also could lead to cases like yours. I suggest u continue to do cardio for health but increase your carb and fats. Eat what u want and enjoy food and u will slowlygain the weight back. Once u get close to where u want to be work with ur NUT to develop a realistic maintenance plan.
  6. I wish I ddn't have arthritis so I could run! It seems so freeing and u seem so happy! Congrats on ur success. You are an inspiration.

    Treated Different......

Umm... what's wrong with the woman talking about being on Weight Watchers? Perhaps she wants to show people that healthy is an option and fatty foods shouldn't be apart of a regular routine. I talk about dieting and exercise A LOT at work and I do it to be encouraging not obnoxious. And frankly if people who are overweght (and I'm still one of them) are offended maybe they should look at themselves instead of putting th blame on someone else
  8. The generic is just as good. Same active ingredient is the same dosage... just the fillers like chicken guts verses duck guts are different. And I totally understand ur feeling. I went a few days without anything and was up to 1300 cals because of it. So when I got it last night I tok 1 and 2 hours later I was still burningso I took another. I am going to ask my doc to write double the pill so I can do this as needed
  9. I can easily eat 1400 cals a day and I'm not eating bad.... I don't think. Breakfast- 1.5 servings vanilla chai tea Midmorn- laughing cow light cheese wedge, 8 turkey pepperoni's Lunch- oven "fried" chicken (baked with cornflakes) and spinach Mid afternoon- same as mid morn Dinner- string Beans and 1.5 perdue chicken strips. By the way I am hungry a lot of the day. I also drink a lot of Water. I ca easily drink 10 cups of water and 100grams Protein. input please

    Unrealistic Diet?

Thanks for ur opinions. When I put it in MFP it came up to 1200 cals.. but the tea was bolthouse farms so that was a lot. I also think the fruit and veg idea is something I need to work on. I kinda cut it out of my life to focus on protein 9and I'm a veggie lover. I stopped taking my prevacid 3 days ago because I ran out. If that's why I'm hungry I need to get something asap.
  11. My boobs have gone down about 2 or 3 cup sizes. But I now have an itchy scaly rash on the top??? What's going on?
  12. I am excited that reached 198!!! However, not as excited as I thought I would be. I have no cause for celebration, no back flips, no celebratory sugar/fat free cheesecake. I just feel like a little fire has been lit under my ass. Like I feel like- hey I CAN DO THIS! I am so f-ing driven to get to my goal! To the people that are 1 month or less out from surgery- it gets better, much better. I was depressed too- but that number on the scale and my sexy ass outfit I wore to a party yesterday ( I am lucky to have a real coke bottle shape) solidifies my choice. GO VST!!

My Hubby Keeps Eating My Food!

I put my stuff in a separate cabinet and I warned him-- don't go in there or else!! If it is out of his sight in a place he has no reason to go into- there is a good chance that he will stop.

    Nutrient Counts

I am a realist. I eat carbs mainly because I have to live with the sleeve not go on a year-long diet. If that seems high to u then cut it down a bit but don't start a way of eating that u can't maintain for a year, 3, 5, or 30. I eat how I plan on eating for the rest of my life... and yes that includes carbs in moderation.
  15. It depends on your starting weight/ bmi. I lost20 pounds which was good for me since I started at 244

    Half A Sandwich?

I ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on regular bread about 2 weeks ago when I was sick and I felt better. If your body doesn't reject it- go for it as long as your not excessive is my rule.
  17. I am halfway to my goal of 170. I think that once I am there it may change depending on my SKIN and the way I feel but 170 has been my goal and I am 37 pounds down with 37 pounds to go! Woooaaaa!
  18. I've been through this as well.... especially when I lost my job 3 weeks after surgery with no warning. You're going to have to go to the social services office and get some help. No pride- just u and you're family is whats important.

    Should I Get Surgery?

Damn! If I would have heard about the balloon before I would have seriously considered it! My doc gave me 3 options. SMH... oh well- too late.
  20. I'm in my later twenties.... and you are doing this at the right time!!! I wish I would have done this 5 years ago.... or not gained the weight- whichever one! :-P

    Protein

I dunno but Herbal Life was expensive if I remember correctly.
  22. I love reading the stats of u guys. I was sleeved 4/25 at 244 and I weigh 210 now. I hate the way I have to eat.... but I love the pics of me with my weight loss so hopefully my sleeve will stretch just a little so I can atleast eat as much as my 1 year old. I eat whatever... but only about 2 bites b4 I throw up. I am tired of the mucus always in my mouth. I want some veggies and other healthy things I can't eat. I feel like I am doing something kinda bad to my body by only giving it dead meat and dairy. Overall I wish I would have never gotten fat so I wouldn't have to do the surgery but I DO NOT REGRET THIS. I am happy with my progress.

    I Find The Operation Stupid

Why does it say this member is banned? Although most of us on here can't say we agree with his comment- it IS a valid point. I think that many doctors want money first and down play the bad sides of the surgery. I do not regret my surgery, but I honestly didn't realize the restriction I would have at first. My doctor and NUT mislead me....point blank, and this person may have experienced the same thing. I researched all the success of the surgery and hardly focused on the downfalls because I didn't want to psych myself out. To the poster, just give yourself some time. I can eat half a Peanut Butter and jelly sandwich when I am being a "bad girl" and I am 8 weeks. BUT for the most part I eat good-for-me foods and I am learning slowly how to be a normal person and be a sleeve patient. It just requires patience. You'll be fine.

What Are You Guying Eating At 2 Months

ANYTHING I WANT. Much smaller amounts, and healthier ingredients when I can.... but I am a food lover and I will always be. I enjoy variation and quality not quantity. Open yourself up a bit.... you have to live with this sleeve for the rest of your life. If you get too tired of the mundane you may find yourself rebelling in a very bad way later. That's just my rational. Try the healthier versions of foods you loved before.
