    protien shakes advice PLEASE!

I have the same info re: the sugar free carnation instant breakfast. I have them, but right now it is easier for me to use the pre made shake. I think the ensure high Protein has 16 gm of carbs--probably to high, but right now I am focused on healing-not weight loss. I really don't care if there are too many carbs. I want something that tastes good & has protein. Being on liquids I have lost 10lbs so what's a few carbs anyway. It sounds like we are on the Atkins diet. Linda
  3. Kevin, I am using Ensure "High Protein" vanilla prepared shake. They are pretty good & just the right size. I don't know the carb count, but I really don't care the first week out--time to heal! Linda

    protien shakes advice PLEASE!

I am using Ensure vanilla & they taste pretty darn good after all those clear liquid days! Linda
  5. Alex & Joann! Thanks for the kind words--I just wanted to let everyone know my experience. The doctors kept telling me ahead of time that this was a piece of cake surgery & I would be back to work in 3 days. I would have been more prepared if I knew that I would be down and out for a minimum a week. My husband has been great & I cannot wait for 6 weeks down the road! Linda
  6. I was banded on 9-22 also & feel like I was hit by a bus. I do not have the gas pains, but it is definately more incision pain. I had in the past 48 hours all of the post op problems that they tell you about (but not involved directly with the banding.) LOL my iv infiltrated--in recovery--so no pain meds thru the iv. I had a fever. Because the incision pain is so bad my oxygen level was low--so I had to stay on oxygen & could not walk. Got a nose blled form the oxygen combined with the heparin shots--it didn't stop. And this was all while I was in the hospital Plus side--no nausea & vomiting--the band is fine--just everything else inst. So far it has not been a good experience. Everything my husband has seen at the hospital has changed his mind towards me having this surgery. Linda

Port and Chest Pain (2 days post)

Powerwing, Try (if you can) to walk around--that will help get the gas out of your system faster. I have my surgery tomorrow & I am going tot ry & get up as fast as I can to start walking. Hope you feel better! Linda

    September Bandsters??

I am going to be a September bandster too. 9-22 is my date. The doctor told me it was only going to be 4 incisions. Now I am worried. Another September Bandster here in Florida said that the incisions are like 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches--that seems so large! Linda

JG I think I met you while we were all running around like crazy getting our testing at the Cleveland Clinic. I am getting nervous about Monday 9-22. Come visit us & see how we are doing when you check in! We should still be there--Sandy, Pam & Linda. Good Luck on Tuesday! Linda

Hello Fellow Floridians, I am due to be banded on 9-22 at the Cleveland Clinic-Weston. They haven't given me a surgeon name yet--I think it is going to be Dr Rosenthal. LH
