  1. I had my lap band surgery in July of 2009, everything was well until the Dr I trusted to take care of me left to Florida to take on a "new Job". whatever his reason is its unfair and until now I'm realizing the extent of damage he left behind. He left all his VA and MD patients without anyone to take care of them and I am one of them. The Dr that they recently referred me too is horrible his staff are all interns who can never find my port. I'm gaining weight and have no Dr to help me with this journey. Its a nightmare and on top of that the new owners of the clinic are sending my insurance company claims of services done in 2009. I know they are committing insurance fraud, some of the service dates are dates I wasn't seen by them. I can honestly say I'm devastated, I don't know were to start to try and resolve this. No Doctor and over 20k in debt. I would have never done the surgery if I would have known that they were all fraud. What sucks the most is that When calling his Florida office his receptionist told me he doesn't deal with VA patients. How Ethical of him to just drop us and move on. Since when is OK to forget your "patients". All I can say is be careful when making this life changing decision, make sure your Dr will always be there for you. Read all the paper work before signing it, because it can be real sneaky.
