I'm self pay... $14k in south Mississippi - that includes everything except my pre-op labs (insurance paid), first visit & $50 copay for psych eval. Includes 1 night in hospital and at least 6 mos of follow ups, complications, etc. May 17th!

Me too... I had cream of chicken Soup tonight. Convinced myself it was "liquid". :/

Sigh.... Why are doctors all so different?? Why do some only have a few days? Or all liquids? I feel guilty for complaining. :'(

Has anyone ever used Pre-op dieting as a defense in a court of law? If I were on a jury, I'd acquit them. I am so grouchy, tearful and downright mean!

My Pre op is 10 days. My fear if I don't complete it - they'll get in there and see food that wasn't on the diet and say "cancel"! I'm fortunate in that mine is not all liquids. I need for these next several days to pass by quickly.

@ canidothis - today is day 2. I'm meaner than a snake and could strike any moment. I don't mind not eating, just can't handle being hungry. :'(

I could seriously hurt someone... I've screamed at my son all afternoon. I have never been this irritable. I want food and I want it right freakin now. Doesn't have to be anything sugar laden or fattening; just something to feel my tummy. My head hurts, I'm on the verge of tears and could really lash out at everyone. Now I have to go to my son's school - and they're eating - food. And smiling... And will probably expect me to smile a well. And if I hear one more person tell me "it'll be worth it", I may stab them with a fork. I am miserable.

We can do this... And hopefully nobody will get harmed in the process.

Day one of Pre-op diet... I've done well all day at work, but now I'm pretty sure I could seriously hurt someone - bad. I have a feeling I'll be going to bed really early the next 10 days... :/

Day one of pre-op diet which is 3 Protein Shakes, sf Popsicles, and a lean cuisine for dinner. So far nobody has been injured or even threatened, but the night is still young! I know some of you have different diets and I honestly don't know what the difference is. I can do this...

Me: OMG! They won't do surgery on me naked, will they??? My boyfriend: Oh no! They have regulations on that kinda thing. They pretty much make them wear clothes!

I couldn't help but laugh! He's obviously heard me talk about being sleeved nonstop!

Bah... I'm a lil embarrassed! I snooped and found things I thought meant something they didn't.

He's in love with his ex wife... I'm completely devastated, but it's not going to stop me. I've been through worse and came out better than before. This is no different. His loss... Or that's what I keep telling myself.

12 days til surgery and my main support system is pretty much gone. I'll have to figure out how to do this on my own, but like so much of the many other obstacles I've overcome, I will get through it. I always do. I'm heartbroken, scared & disappointed.

I have 13 more days!! Surgery is May 17th! I start my Pre-op on Monday. It's 2 Protein Shakes & lean cuisine for dinner with sf Popsicles, etc. I am beyond excited! This is everything to me - I'm refinancing my home to have this. I'm convinced this surgery is going to save my life! I wish my insurance would have covered it, but oh well. I'm so glad to hear you're all doing well! My day is coming!

I'm scheduled for May 17th. Start Pre-op diet next week. Cannot wait!!!!!

I'm not far - from Lucedale! My date is May 18th w/Dr Jenkins in Ocean Springs. My bf used Weinstein and had a great experience!
