  1. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 - so thankful for a good report!

  2. I've had a vaso-vagal response as well - but it was from dehydration. Dr said a true response like the one I had doesn't happen often or to many people, but it can and does happen to vsg patients. It scared me enough to make sure I make more of an effort to stay hydrated. I can't imagine what would have happened if I'd been driving or not at work in an office full of nurses.

  3. Sleeved on 5/17 - last time I weighed I'd lost 22lbs - that includes Pre-op diet. I'm 5'2; started at 210lbs. This is week 4- I got dehydrated and actually passed out at work on Monday morning and was transported to hospital via ambulance. I got fluids and was fine. Since then I've been drinking like a fish. I feel Water logged. This week has been a struggle to eat - yuck. The smell of food turns my sleeve! Still having some dizziness, fatigue, headaches, nausea and grouchy as a hornet. I've felt great til this week. I'm really not able to exercise yet due to the dizziness. I know this is temporary and it actually is getting better each day. Protein & Vitamins are a must for me. Cannot skip them. If I do, I can hardly get out of bed! I have found the mornings are much more difficult for me than prior to surgery. My guess is from the lack of food & Water during the night. Anywho... Still very excited about a new life!

  4. Yesterday I got to work and meeting with 2 coworkers and I stood up from my chair and that's the last thing I remember. I got cold, clammy, diaphoretic and from their accts I clinched my jaws, my pupils were fixed & dilated and I was completely unresponsive. They're nurses, so they tried to get some sugar down me, then checked my blood pressure - I didn't have one. They put me in the floor with my feet above my head and called 911. By the time the ambulance got there (10 mins) I was coming around. They did all kinds of scans & tests and all was normal. I have an appt with my surgeon this morning. I'm terrified of this happening again! If I'd been alone or driving, I would have died. They checked my blood sugar and it was like really low even after them pouring sugar down me. I had no warning signs, no weird feelings or anything. I'm 26 days post op. I have an hour to drive to dr and I'm praying this doesn't happen again. I had bfast already and I'm going to sip on some juice. At this point, my safety is more important than not drinking sugar filled juices :(

Anyone else have this happen? It was scary!

  5. Pre op I took Vyvanse daily for ADHD. I went back to work today and restarted my normal dose. I was in high gear all day like a rat on crack ... And still am at 4am. I took Ambien 10mg and it didn't even phase me. Anyone else have any experience or input? Miserable!!!

  6. Oh Mary... I'm so sorry! There are so many options to control the vomiting! Phenergan gel that you apply to the wrist is amazing. I couldn't handle ice chips or Water when I first started - especially if the water was cold. You're in my prayers... please keep us updated. I speak healing over you in Jesus' name!! Read Jeremiah 29:11 - it's just for you!
