    Protein Shake = Diarrhea

Try a lactose free protein powder. My doctor gave a sample of a protein liquid that comes in a tube, I can not remember the name, but I would split it in a dose of 3 with lots of water(I believe the tube is 42gr of protein). For some reason no matter how watery I made my protein shake it was just too think tasting to me. Also try lactose free milk. Some people, like myself, become lactose intolerant after the surgery.
  3. Every doctor is different when it comes to the post-op diet. I stayed on liquids for a couple of weeks due to other problems but it did not hurt the healing process at all. I think you will be fine but always ask your doctor as well.
  4. I finally have nothing in my closet to remind myself of the old me. I too hung on to "old" tees to work around in but those too are now gone! It felt good to give away all those clothes to those in need. Congratulations on the weight loss!

    Too many fluids?

That is wonderful that you are getting in all your liquids! I also could not drink the protein drinks I use to love, instead I went to Unjury.com and purchased their chicken broth which is wonderful and the strawberry sorbet. Big difference and I also had to just add a little bit more water than the directions said. Ensure has protein water bottles, it has 9gr per10 oz bottle. I know my problem drinking protein shakes were they were just too think/heavy no matter how watery I made it. So these came in handy until I received my Unjury order. Good luck
  6. Glad the problem with found and fixed!

    Liquids

Ice chips and popsicles were all I could tolerate the first week or so. I couldn't tolerate protein shakes for a while so you are doing good!

    Year 1/2 post surgery

My doctor recommended that I take a B complex to help with fatigue. He said that many patients do so much better with fatigue after taking it. Just started so I can't say if it works or not. My 6 months blood tests all came out good, except for elevated alkaline phosphatase, in which I will be having a abdominal CT scan next week to see if anything else is going on. Hope you figure out what is going on soon so you can start enjoying 100% of your new life!
  10. OMG I couldn't even open the refrigerator without gagging! Smell and taste buds went crazy! Taste buds were so off, nothing tasted good. My protein shakes I loved prior I could not stand the taste or texture! Thank goodness that it only lasted for a couple of months! I am not sure what the science behind it is but it was not fun while it lasted!
  11. Your only 4 days out and your stomach is still heaIinng. Your doing good! I can relate to your problem, Try sucking on ice chips…that is what saved me (and popsicles). Plain Water, flavored water, warm water or cold water, just did not agree with my stomach. Protein shakes I loved prior to surgery I could not tolerate. Good luck, everyday gets better! I now drink ice cold water with no problem!

    New to Here

Welcome Amy! It seems like you have done your homework, which is great! So, you want to do the surgery and go home the same day? Hopefully your insurance will pay so you can at least spend one night in the hospital! Glad you are taking control of your health and your children's health as well. Actually, it was my puppy that got me up and going after surgery. She is 5 mos and I am 6 mos post op. I do not have young ones at home to get me moving so my puppy is the one that keeps me on my toes now! I take her on daily walks which is the best thing to do after surgery. You should do baby steps, if you live in a neighborhood pick a house to walk to and then everyday go one house further before you know it you'll go around the block! Try doing this now to help get you to goal and help you prepare for after surgery. Good-luck with meeting your goals. Congratulations on making the decision to start living!

Hang in there, everyday gets better. You are not the first nor the last to try the next stage early! My doctor told me if you feel like you can advance and it doesn't hurt, go for it.

I can relate….my doctor's nurse was calling everyday to see how I was doing, due to some problems I was having and I one day just starting crying and telling her how I regretted the surgery and how depressed I was. Fast forward 3 months later and my mind has changed It does get better, just hang in there. Your still healing give it time Keep positive!! Good luck and keep us posted!

    breast size (for women)

I went from a OVERFLOWING 38DD to a 34 DD. 34 D cup is too small and I am no longer overflowing in the DD's! They went from firm and full to long and skinny! LOL
