Good luck to you. I only have 4 days left on my 14 day liquid diet. I would like to tell you that it get easier but every day has been a struggle for me. I have lost 15 lbs so it does work if you stick to it. Drinking lots of fluids and chicken broth does help and the SF popsicles are a nice treat. You are making a good change in your life and the struggles will all be worth it soon.

My approval took about 14 days and my insurance company even requested more information. I think 14 days is an average wait. Call your insurance company and ask them how many days it takes. See if you can find out the name of the person who will make the decision and call him/her to follow up after your docs office sends everything in. Do you have to go on a pre-op diet? How far out will you need to start that is you have one? Most offices will not schedule your surgery until they have the actual approval from your insurance company.

Has anyone traveled shortly after surgery? My daughter has her college orientation 3 days ofter my surgery and I would like to go with her. It is a 5 hour card ride to get to her school. I didn't know if anyone else had traveled after surgery and if so how it went for them. I will ask my doctor if I can, but I wanted to see if any of you had any suggestions if I should go with her or not. - Thanks!

Everyone I have talked to seems to be eating mushie food or solid food a little more than a month after surgery. I think you should be fine by then, just remember to take small bites and chew your food alot! Good Luck to you.
