Now I Know What Stuck Feels Like!
erin313 replied to Tsign36's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I drink right up until I start to eat then wait about an hour after I eat to drink again. A girl in my support group uses 2 water bottles a day and labels them with times she has to drink them by. She marks one line 9am, another 11am then by 1pm she needs to finish that bottle. Her 2nd bottle is marked 2, 3, and 5. She gets in the fluids while at work, stays hydrated and drinks more in the afternoon keeps her from afternoon hunger. -

The pain meds made me feel sick too. Lots of ice and a heating pad were the only things that helped me. Good luck. -

Your Progess-Feel Like I Should've Lost More At This Poing
erin313 replied to kariew28's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am glad that I am not the only one who feels that the weight loss is slower than I expected. I have lost 26 lbs. I really wanted to be under 200 lbs by now but I am still loosing a little each week so I am happy with that. I go for my 2nd fill next week so I am hoping I get some restriction with that. My doc is pleased with my loss, he suggests loosing no more than 2 lbs per week. I think you are all doing great and you are the people that keep me going. I am so glad to have this site to "talk" to other people who are going through the same things. -
Please feel free to add me eahalstead

erin313 replied to Em85's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories

Try everything! Do you have any friends that do any group exercise classes? I am not someone that likes to go to classes alone so it helps to go with a friend. Do lots of different things to see what you enjoy. The more you change up your routine the less likely you will get bored with it. I have a bike and I try to ride a couple days a week I try to swim a couple days a week and I really try to walk some every day. My daughter and I have tried all kinds of classes from Zumba to yoga and very time I finish a class I feel like I have accomplished something. Classes seem to push me to do more than I would if I was just exercising by myself. Good luck to you.

I do drink iced tea or coffee almost daily. I don't drink sodas though. I don't drink more than a glass or two so I am not worried about too much caffeine. Just like anything else, moderation is important.

I agree with 2muchfun. You really need to listen to your body and stop eating when you get the signs you are full. As soon as you get the stuck feeling stop eating and think about what you are eating, why you are eating and if you are really hungry.

I just had my first fill last Monday and I tried to eat a bagel yesterday for breakfast. I took one bite and I felt terrible for about 20 minutes. It felt awful and I don't want to feel like that again so I won't be eating them anymore. Everyone is different though so if it something you really don't want to give up try to see if you can eat them toasted as others have suggested.

Gaining Weight Mushies?
erin313 replied to 911chrystal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I gained a couple pounds back too. I am mad at myself but it sounds like it happens to a lot of people. I am just trying to increase the amount of exercise I am doing to keep my metabolism up. -

I am glad you are doing so good. Keep walking to work that gas out. -
Good luck to you. I am glad you are doing well. I got mine the day after you and I am not having any problems either.
-
Mine was done last Friday and I am still red. As long as they are not hot, seeping or you are running a fever I think they are fine. Call your doctor though if you are worried.
-
I was banded on the 1st and I am on clear liquids till the 14th then I can progress to full liquids. We all really have different rules.

I had my surgery on a Friday and went back to work on Monday. I didn't feel like I was ready but once I got going and started getting things done I really felt much better.

Started Period 10 Days Early

Mine has been irregular since I started my pre-op diet. I attribute it to the rapid weight loss too.
