  1. I do have more energy and my clothes are looser. Although I am in the same size. I should be more thankful and I know I sound like a brat but I guess I had expected to lose more. :-)
  2. I guess it's worth a try. Thanks!
  3. It's been six weeks since my surgery and I have only lost 20 lbs. According to myfitnesspal I average anywhere from 500-700 calories per day, about 40 carbs and between 80-110 grams of protein. How is it possible that I am not losing faster? Sunday I started working out. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical two days straight. The scale didnt budge. I am even getting in about 70 ounces of water. I should have lost some water weight at least. Nothing. IIt makes me want to throw in the towel. What's wrong with me?
  4. I work in HR. In order to qualify you have to be employed for one year and have worked 1,250 hours in the preceding year. Since OP has not been employed for one year she doesn't qualify. I agree you should go see you HR rep in case you need to be out longer. Be careful some companies have rules about working with restrictions. For example at my company the Receptionist has to be able to lift 50lbs. The company policy required she remain off until there were no restrictions. My doctor had me on 10 lb lifting restrictions for 8 weeks. If I had mentioned my surgery I would have been required to supply a doctors note. In other words in some cases the less information shared the better. At least in my case.
  5. I woke sore but in very little pain. I actually asked if I had been sleeved. I had pain meds in my IV. I was very lucky as I was really burpy but did not have gas pains. I hope you have a similar recovery. I completely expected to be laid out. Keep in mind every person is different. I asked for a nausea patch from the anesthesiologist. I highly recommend. I never took nausea or pain meds when I got home.
  6. Aw, you look fabulous. Congratulations!
  7. Congrats! It kinda of gives me hope as a slow loser. :-)
  8. Can you share the recipe?
  9. Congrats! You look fabulous!
  10. Full liquid for me. Make sure to water it down otherwise it's too thick.
  11. I am glad I am not the only one disgusted by the smell of whey. I am also looking for a protein bar so it will be interesting to hear the responses. I currently drink premier protein premade. I cannot do the powder either. This alone eliminated the nectar proteins.
  12. You look amazeballs, Congrats!
  13. I haven't started working out yet but I am able to chug if I want. I was concerned I was able to and my nutritionist said its not a question of if I can but that I should not as the sleeve is still healing and it might cause me to get a leak early on. I imagine after I am healed this should be ok. I am 5 weeks post op.
  14. Amazing! You look great! I love post like these because at five weeks postop I only hope I can have as much success. I actually feel better on high protein but then again I haven't been released to exercise.. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Apparently some of us have a very uneventful experience. Welcome to the group. I woke up in so little pain I was convinced I hadn't been sleeved. I made the nurse read my chart. I never filled my pain script from the hospital. I guess we are just lucky or More so blessed. If only I could get the chewing thing. Two small bites and I am full.
  16. There is something in ispure that gets stuck in the back of my throat. Its more than an aftertaste. Its like the Protein sticks there. Totally disgusting.
  17. Premier Protein is the only drink I like post surgery everything else has a disgusting whey smell. They sell chololate and vanilla at Sams Club.
  18. It was on my postoperative food list. Sugar free nonfat. I am on day 14. You could add a scoop to some powder and make a yummy shake.
  19. I had surgery 6.15.12. I had 5 days clear liquids, and 6 days full liquids. 2 more days an on to puréed. I cannot wait. I have puréed for 5 days then soft foods. Can't wait for regular foods.
