My thoughts and prayers go out to the Taylor family. Well the strength training is slowly working, I'm down 4lbs from my fill weight. If I can get off one more I'll say goodbye to that dang 5lbs I've been gaining and losing since Christmas! I guess I've been working out all wrong at the gym. The personal trainer helped me last week and I've had 3 of his workouts and have been pooped at the end ever since. Not to mention a little sore. Sugarbear, I hate to hear about that hernia. I know you're TIRED of having surgeries! Hopefully they can do it laprascopically (spelling?) and you will heal faster. Lisa, I KNOW what you're going through! Hang in there! TP when they finally get the fill amount just right, it's amazing how comfortable you are and you get full with just a little food. Being too tight is awful compared to how I feel now. Before I was always uncomfotrable when I ate no matter how slow and small I chewed. Now I don't worry about feeling bad at every meal. I just eat and get on with my bad self!
  2. I didn't pull a lot out, but some of my glue from my incisions was expelled. It looked like dry skin and felt like plastic. I came out for weeks after surgery in pieces and finally got all nice and smooth.

    Question about Curves

I would think the running in place you aggrivate the heel spurs. Maybe you can skip that part. I have a bone spur in one of my knees too, and as long as I don't over do it, I do okay. My doc told me no walking or running, but I do what I can on the elliptical and bike, and sometimes I try to walk too and haven't had too much problem.

Happy Easter! I hope the bunny has found everyone okay this year!
  5. I had a rought first 4 days. I'm about 7 1/3 months out now and I feel wonderful. I'm a new person, not only in how I look, but I feel better than I ever have. Hang in there and tough it out. There's a long "getting use to it" stage, but when you get the hang of it, you won't even remember if any of it was bad. Remember, we're all going through behavior modification...that's a hard thing to do for any behavior, let alone eating. The day before surgery, I was so tired and sweating just to walk from the bed to the bathroom when I woke up in the morning. Now I run (yes RUN!) 3 miles 4 days a week on an elliptical trainer. You can't beat that! Hang in there. It's SO worth it!

The worst part is behind you, hogwild. Just make yourself walk. You'll find you're a little sore in the morning and maybe more bloated. I think the 3-4 days after surgery were more difficult for me than the day of. You might be a little weak as your body adjusts too. Just hang in there, by day 10 you'll be amazed at how easy it was!

Good luck tomorrow. You'll do great. Remember the mantra - "Walk, Walk, Walk" even if you don't want to. It's what gets you through the rough patches.

Woohoo Spring Break! I have a fitness assessment tomorrow at the gym and I've even managed to lose a wopping 2lbs with missing the gym for two weeks straight after this comfortable fill. I'm having a yard sale to sale ALL my old clothes. It's kindda hard to part with them, but I've gone down right at 5 sizes! One more size and I'm the smallest I've been since 19.

Stress gets me lapband super tight! Evidentally, I'm a high stress gal too! This is my first "normal" fill with good restriction. I had a half a hotdog last nightand was stuffed last night. No bun or anything, and I haven't been majorly sick either! I need to check on Saturday and see if the scale is going to move this time!
  10. LJM - What is the "Wedge" you were talking about earlier?

TP - if you catch yourself eating things you're not supposed because it goes down easy, that's another sign of being too tight. As long as you're not throwing up more than once a week, you should be okay...at least that was Dr. K's instructions when I was too tight.
  12. I can feel both, I'm 9 months out. I've always been able to feel my band internally. I think I'm just weird. My band has been tighter than most from the beginning too. It feels like a slight pressure just beneath my sternum. It's nothing annoying, but it's there if I pay attention. My port is always present, but it's getting better.

I don't think I will be at the meeting tomorrow night. I don't have a babysitter and my hubby has a softball game. Y'all let me know what I miss.

It was amazing, after I woke up from surgery, I was not hungry...ever again until last week! It's been oh...about 9 months....not hungry at all until recently. It was such a relief to wake up and sip water and be full. Just hang in there. The salad is your friend. I remember I at those little grape tomatoes when I got really hunry just make it through. This last fill has helped with the hungries, but I'm not sure it was tight enough.

Hang in there. The liquid part is the hardest part of the whole thing!

Dr. H told me that I was probably eating too close to bedtime and that I should eat before exercising, then have a protein shake before bed. He said that I should do more strength training too. That makes me feel a little better, I hope it works. So far the fill feels pretty good, but tomorrow is when the bad stuff will happen...if it's too tight!

Thanks Lisa. I think I've hit a low point...but there's no where to go but up, right?

I jumped out of the box last night and broke over and had dessert with my meal. This is the first time since the bad I can eat a regular amount of food. I'm absolutely going to ask for a larger fill. I'm doing mostly liquids today to make up for pigging out last night:(

GO LISA! Y'all get some biotin and some VERY gentley shampoo and conditioner and maybe some protein supplements for that hair. It took about 2 months of the biotin, but I did notice a difference. I just got some really gentle shampoo/conditioner and it's really making a difference in how much my hair is falling out. It's WEN and you order it on QVC. It's a little expensive, but I swear there's a miracle in the bottle. I've used it about 3 weeks and it's cut my hairloss in half and improved the texture of it too!

I'm kindda down on the whole gym thing. I'm still not seeing much difference on the scale. I go for a fill on Thursday and I'm going to ask Dr. H to be a little more aggressive. This fill was comfortable, but only lasted a coupld of weeks. I hope he can give me some explanation as to why working out so hard and at least 4 days a week or more isn't working. The only difference I can truly tell is that my physical endurance is going up. My only guess is that I'm not getting enough water. I will up that some this week and see what happens!
  21. Dang girl! I can see difference all over...amazing! Can you feel a big difference? Is it like being in a different body?
  22. WOW! You look great! Just hang in there with that temp. You're in the right place with the right folks to be watching over you right now. Just relax and heal. :-)
  23. I can't wait to see! This is so exciting!
