  1. i have always loved milk, but after surgery it doesn't love me. can do milk based products now, but more that 2 or 3 sips of milk and i am running for a bathroom€.
  2. It was hard in the beginning for me. I never really felt hungery and then when i did eat i felt like i needed to throw up, but i never did. I'm over 2 months out, and now recognize when i am getting full before i get to the over full stage. but i did take a few weeks to get here.

    Pissed Off And Frustrated

i lost 28lbs in the 1st 3 weeks then stopped for 3 weeks. i kept gaining and losing the same 1/2lb. But in that 3 weeks i dropped 2 clothes sizes. i got on the scale yesterday and am losing again. Even though i was ready for the stall is still sucks and makes you wander if you are doing something wrong.

    My New Favorite Food

Oh, I had egg drop soup last night, it hit the spot. I cheated a little and soaked 3 of the little crunchier just so there was a little crunch.
  6. The 1st day or 2 the sf Popsicles were the only thing I could eat without gagging. I bought a multi pack and then forbid my family from touching the red ones.

To Tell Or Not To Tell?

I have told everyone. I'm 1 of the only ones in my family that is not extremely private about everything. My mom just told some of her friends I was haveing minor surgery but for the most part I don't care who knows. Actually the only people I haven't told is some of my husbands family they made some annoying comments last year and we will see them again this summer and they will NOT be told I had surgery.

    Caffeine

My doctor okayed coffee right away just no more thAn 8oz a day
  9. I came home from the hospital on a soft/purée diet, I do that for 5weeks then I start adding regular food slowly.
  10. I used to do this with oranges as a kid. I loved the flavor of an orange but I didn't like seeds or texture of the inside. I like clementines and tangelos now ( or did before surgery/only 2 weeks out so I cant try them yet) the inside texture is not as tough as a regular orange.

    Mushies Early? Scared!

Personally my doctor sent me home from the hospital on purees and mushied.
  12. If you use a wheelchair, you can ask that 1 be waiting for you at the next airport, that way you get on the plane before everyone else and the person that wheels you on will put your bag in the overhead compartment if you have any problems.

    5 Days Post Op

I was hooked up to all kinds of things also. The day of surgery my surgeon came to walk with me. The next day my catheter came out, so. Did my walks after going potty since I was already unhooked.
  14. I'm gonna actually try the crushed ice thing, pretty much anything that is not ice cold taste horrible. My daughter has a snow cone maker. I'm gonna shave some ice and pour my crystal light over it. So even though I can eat puréed food, and did earlier in the week I have no desire for food of any kind right now

    Pain Drinking Water

The plain Water doesn't hurt, but it taste horrible to me now, and I had always been a big water drinker. So I am still trying to find something I can drink.
  16. That really is crazy the difference, I'm allowed to so to solid foods at 5weeks.

    The Pain?

I had surgery March 21, 2012, had surgery 1.5 weeks ago. Paini was manageable in the hospital, I had a happy button. The worst pain was Friday coming off the morphine and going home, but I have not had any pAin meds since Wednesday morning. The only time I have pain now is bending over to pick things up and sometimes sleeping since I sleep on my side/stomach.
  18. I had an excellent surgeon here in Chesapeake, dr Eric Yancey, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
