  1. I too am from upstate ny. I do have some summery 18's I wouldn't mind parting with. What is your zip code?
  2. Finally growing out of my 18's. anybody have any 14/16 they want to give away?
  3. Am three weeks out and have had a wonderful journey so far. However I woke up this morning and noticed that whenever I use my stomach muscles I'm getting a weird pain near my port site. It feels almost like an internal pinch. Any ideas what this could be?
  4. I had the ideal surgery. Not a single complication. In fact the very next day i was out shopping for furniture. The doctor is just really strict about the post op diet. I have considered taking a spoonful of cottage cheese to get my Protein in because having three Protein shakes a day is becoming unbearable.
  5. Consider yourself lucky. I'm am 5 days post op. saw my doctor today. For the next two weeks I am strictly only allowed protein shakes. I asked if I could have broth or yogurt and I was shot down. I'm not really hungry yet, but I literally miss having something to chew on. Good luck with everything!
  6. I went for my post op visit today. I've lost 11 and a half pounds. It feels really great I wish I was able to eat food though because I kind of miss the motion of chewing but my doc wants me to be on liquids and protein shakes for 2 more weeks!! Cannot wait until the 27th!

  8. Personally, I like the isopure. They have several favors including mango and vanilla, but my favorite is chocolate chip cookie dough. It's a little pricy, but taste much better than the other brands I've had.
  9. Good luck! It will be worth it
  10. My insurance company didn't require a special diet, but there are certain test and procedures the surgeon requires to make sure I was healthy enough for surgery. From seminar day to surgery day (today ) it was a little over three and a half months. Totally worth every waiting minute though. I feel so proud of myself and already feel my confidence growing!! Best of luck to you.
  11. I told my job that I was going in for same day surgery to have a hernia repaired. I feel exactly as you do. It's no ones business until you want to make it their business. Good luck and don't be nervous, it's a piece of cake!!
  12. I am so happy there is very very little discomfort and I can't wait to see results. The doctor and hospital staff were amazing and I just couldn't be happier right now.
  13. Congrats and good luck to you!! I can completely understand how you are feeling haha!!
  14. hell all! Tomorrow is my last day band free! I am very excited, yet super nervous at the same time! I know this is the right decision and I'm proud of myself for realizing that, but of course there are always small worries at the back of your mind. My doctor prescribed me xanax for the morning of because I know I'm going to have the butterflies terribly. I was wondering if any of you had the same issue and if the xanax actually helped?
  15. Good Luck on your journey. Congrats on making this wonderful life decision!
  16. I think it is a very personal choice. I am struggling myself with who to tell because you never really know how people will react. I have been told that if they react negatively then they are not people you should be around anyway, but I think its important for you to understand that some people are just completely undereducated about lap band. Many people look at this as the "easy fix" but we all know that is not the truth. I would suggest that whoever you decide to tell, you should make sure they are well educated on what you will actually be going through.
  17. I know its not an easy journey and I'm prepared for that. I think I just get myself so psyched up about the "what ifs" and it makes me so anxious. I have a wonderful doctor so I know I am in good hands, but anesthesia terrifies me! Its always good to have someone to talk through these issues with aha
  18. Thanks for the advice! I find that I am so mixed with emotions because I have wanted to do this for a while now, but I'm still nervous for the process. My mom is actually going through the procedure with me so my intermediate family is very supportive, but as of right now it is pretty limited to just those few family members that know. I wonder if you have any regrets about having the surgery so young?
  19. Hi all, Just turned 20 and am getting lap band on August 8th! I am very excited about the changes that are coming my way, but also nervous. Any advice?
  20. Hello all, I am trying to get some feedback on how teens have handled lapband. I have seriously been considering it and have done a lot of online research. My biggest concern is how to talk to my parents about it. I have brought up the idea of having the surgery, but the conversation went nowhere. Id also like to know how some of you teens who have had the surgery like it. Do you think it was worth it?
