  1. I know how you feel! I have a stricture as well. I had surgery May 16th and after two weeks, started having issues keeping food down. They have determined that my issue is at the bottom of my stomach, which has healed almost close. Sometime food and liquid make it through, sometime it don't. They opened it once with a Upper Endscopy but a week later am having the issue again. Tommorow my doctor is going back in to repair the issue. They are going to cut across and re-stich it so things can pass through. In my opinion, you need another surgery and fast! You spent a lot money on this and now you are living in a nightmare. That's no way to live.
  2. So I tried some seedless watermelon, which my NUT said was okay since its Water base while on the mushie diet. Well I hate 3 small bites and I am full! Mind u, this weekend i had tilapia and it came back up, and am starting to think its because I was eating too fast. I noticed that after each bite its best for me to pause for at least 5 mins and then take the next bite. I did this with the watermelon and I feel the difference! I am stuffed to the brim. My question is, how long will this occur or is this permanent? I mean, will I ever be able to eat more than a few bites of anything? My surgeon said my stomach will stretch over time but I of course want hear it from my friends on the forum!
  3. I am glad there are others who have this problem. Well I couldnt find the Gas-x Stripes but i did find the soft gels and it did help....i stopped burping last night was able to get a decent sleep. Today I did find out that i cannot tolerate milk based protein so back to the drawing board on that, but other than that, am doing great! Nothing bad to report at the moment. Lets pray no more throwing up for at least 24 hrs! LOL
  4. It seems like its one thing after another...smh. I just left the hospital less than a week ago and now I have another issue: Burping and Gas. I have been burping nonstop all day. After less than a sip, the burping starts and it does not end. Also I can feel the gas in my stomach, I feel bloated and full! Just a minute ago, it got so bad I threw up some water I had drank. What I can do to stop this? I don’t want call my doctor for this if I don’t have to. I was thinking of trying Gas X.....
  5. Prayering for you, keep us posted!!!
  6. I had my sugery on May 16th and my goal was to lose 90lbs. I started at 275 on the pre-op diet, and on the date of the sugery I was 267. I am now overall 32lbs down(243) in less than a month from sugery!
  7. Everything is going good so far! I been sticking to liquids only as a preacaution but today I am going to switch to a full liquid diet as my docotor recommended. About to eat some cream of wheat, oh how lucky I am! lol. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and well wishes! I truly do not know what i would do without this form!!!
  8. Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers!! HE heard them and I am being discharged today . I was told that the Upper GI showed that the tip of my stomach had fold over. This supposedly happended from how my stomach is shaped and over time it healed itself over the bottom part, forming a "plug," This explained the throwing up, which was a result of me eating and food sitting in my stomach and not being able to pass through my intestines. Right now they told me I need to stick to the mushie diet and ensure I am eating three times a day. I was also told that if it happens again, I may need a small sugery where they go in and make an incision, but as of now the problem is solved and I am good to go!
  9. Yep and it came back fine. So either my stomach is swollen or something is stuck...they are thinking it is swollen from healing and just healed itself almost completely closed.
  10. Well a week after surgery, I started to have signs of acid reflux. My chest was burning and food felt like it was coming up. Then it became worse. Nothing wouldn’t stay down, not even liquids. I started to become dehydrated and went to the hospital. I found out via a UGI that after I would drink or eat, that it would just sit in my stomach. It’s like my stomach is plugged right at the bottom, letting nothing pass into my intestines. They are not sure if it’s a stricture or something is stuck. Today I am going to have an Upper GI Endoscopy done and they are hoping they can use this procedure to remove the stricture or stretch that area out so food can pass. If not, then the next two options are another surgery to try to open the area by cutting it or a Gastric Bypass. Let’s just say the latter option is a no go, I rather live on a IV then have a Gastric Bypass. Please pray for me and I will keep you all posted.
  11. Prayering for you! Everyone has a different experience with the sleeve. I was sick and had to stay for two days. Now am back in the hospital because I can't tolerate liquids or any mushies. They think it may be a kink at the bottom of my sleeve, but they are still running test! Please pray for me and I will do the same for you. God knows our limits and doesn't put more on you than you can bear. Keep us posted.
  12. My doctor just started me on Nexium, as my acid reflux has been TERRIBLE. How long before you felt relief??
  13. Congrats! Just keep on pushing, I know the pre-op diet sucks, but it will be SOOO WORTH IT in the long run! Best of luck and well wishes to you!!!
  14. lol I bet!!! I am suppose to move to mushies by Friday, onc I met with my doctor. My stomach is doing okay but i do have symptoms of acid reflux, which my doctor put me on medcine for.
  15. Congrats! What kind of test did they perform to advance you to mushies???
  16. I am on my prevacid but am being switched to Nexum..I heard all them work different for everyone so it may take a few tries. My Nut said that one problem is Crystal Light..alot people get heartburn after surgery who drink it...so try to avoid it~!!!
  17. LOL!! This is what i would do. Either your with me or against me..if its the latter, then Goodbye!!!
  18. Congrats! I was sleeved on May 16th, so I know how you feel. I was in terrible pain as well but I am SO glad I did it! Looking forward to updates on your progress
  19. I am experiencing this myself. I never had symptoms of GERD, but I was told prior to surgery that my UGI showed minor Acid Reflux. Now, after surgery, I am experiencing symptoms. Today was the worse, so I picked up a pack of Prevacid. I hope it works or else I will be calling my surgeons office.
