Spinning is awesome! You can burn up to 800-1000 calories per hour class. Definitely get some cycling shorts! cycling also helps lengthen your leg muscles(leaner) and works your core( no crunches, yay!).
I've heard that wearing a compression garment all the time helps with gravity wanting to take over. Exercising with loose skin is only going to exacerbate the issue. We all like wearing loose fitting clothes when we work out, cuz they're comfortable. We really should be wearing form fitting to keep our skin from jiggling and gravity pulling us down.
I've been extensively researching this because I'm not interested in having a bodylift after all of this. I'm on my medically supervised diet, Pre-op. I am using this time to mentally and physically prepare for this surgery.
I am following the paleo diet. It's low carb, high Protein. No processed foods. This guy Mark Sisson breaks down the phenomenon of loose skin. Google him and loose skin. It's very interesting and plausible.
In addition, I do wear a compression garment all the time, even when I sleep. Nothing contricting, just holds me in. I prefer two pieces instead of one. Tj maxx and marshalls have all types of good ones for under $20. I love Flexees. They're soft and comfortable for sleeping in and layering under clothes and working out. I do have heavy duty ones, like vedette and body magic, but the seem restricting, ie, you know it's there. I'll use those post op, to help with compression. Spanx

that was one of my biggest concerns ... i went to the endocrinologist, rheumatologist, hematologist, lupus skin specialist and so on... they all told me that other than the clotting issues i have, it was going to be good for me .... compare to all the other issues i was going to have related to my history such as highblood pressure, heart problems, stroke, blindness etc associated with diabetes which runs very strong in my family. they all agreed and said : "go for it"!!!! i have no doubt in my mind that i did the right thing for me . i am going through blood thinner injection treatment for 10 days ... other than that we are ok!! =-)

I'm so sorry!! My brother in law wad diagnosed with throat tongue cancer and after everything he is in remission!!! Last thing to loose is hope cancer treatment is not what it used to be 20 years ago

I have connective tissue disorder , fibromyalgia, sjogrens, hasimoto, and most of my problems are autoimmune related ...the doctor told me that after surgery, i would have to call him before going back to steroids for a pill that helps with the effects of the meds in the stomach. other than that, I am good to go... by the way, my surgery was on the 3rd and pain has been good, not bad at all.

u should be able to take them , except for one or two day ... i should be back on mine already ... i have to break it down..

July 3rd here IAm so nervous

I'm compiling a list with everyone's names and dates on it so we can see when we are all having our surgery and support each other. I'll post it in the "Hey July sleevers!" thread and here. And I wonder ... What the hell I about to do? That is my question this morning at 4 am . Today is my official day to start my diet (been practicing for almost 2 months) July 3rd is my date! I hope that I am not going to second guess myself about my decision. I know I need to do this ...why can't I think positive that nothing will happen and all I am going to regret is not doing it earlier??? I am so scared ????

I'm so sorry u Feel that way, that really scares me since my day is July 3rd. If is any consolation ; a good friend of mine was feeling the same exact way after surgery, today she is the one motivating me so I don't get nervous. She looks fabulous 70 lbs lighter and looking and feeling so much younger! I hope the spams get better and just think that there is an end to the tunnel!

Yes I started on shakes (awesome) 4 weeks ago and lost 16 lbs people now make me question my decision. But I know in my heart this is what I need to do. I'll say I am very scared!
