  1. @lisalalani it does feel surreal. I will be 2 weeks post op and I am waiting to chew something as well. At my first week checkup I thought yogurt or thicker fluids would be introduced. I was wrong, just Clear Liquids and the intro of Protein. I am so praying for baby food, mushies, cream Soup, or something of substance.

This experience is surreal. I am very grateful for the surgery. I will follow the rules to the T. Good luck with your lost. If it gets to hard, take a nap or go for a walk.

  2. Hey everyone,

I am loving the love here in this group for 200+. I started at 438 pre-op. I lost a few #s gained a few #s, but I'm happy to say that I lost 16 #s in the 1st week post-opt. I m not weighting myself daily, but I can't wait for my 2 wk follow up. I was 405.8 at last weight in. Hopefully I will be under the 300 # mark. If so it will be the 1st time I was in the 300s in 10 years. That's major for me. My goal weight is 200#s.

Good luck to all my sleevers out. We can do it.

  3. Hey AA Sleevers,

I am 34 yo post-op sleever. I had my sleeve done on 3/22/12. Its been 10 days since being sleeved and I was down 16# on my 1 week checkup. I do miss chewing. My fam and friends are very supportive. Although they eat whatever they want in front of me. This has been a big transition for me esp. Because I quit smoking at the same time. I can't say I have any regrets. I am not concerned with hairloss because I suffer from alopecia. My only concern has been bowel movements. Before wls I would "go" at least 2x daily. I had to take milk of magnesia for my 1st movement 4 days after surgery. I haven't had a movement since. I don't want laxatives to become a part of my daily intake. Anyone who has any advise, I welcome it. I will discuss it later today with my treatment team.

I'm in nj if anyone wants to hit me up. Thanks for this thread.

  4. Hi there, I'm new to this forum too. I am 34 yrs old with a top weight of 438. My goal weight is 225-200 pds. I am 5'10 and think this will be a good weight. When I look back at the happiest times in my life, that was the weight range I was in. I am at 408.5 now and look forward to breaking into the 300s. The small victories will keep me motivated, and eventually I will hit my target.

I dread having the loose skin, but I plan to weight train and exercise. I hear drinking plenty of Water will help. I pray I have good genes and most will strink. If not there is always surgery or Spanks...lol

  5. Hi there, I am 8 days post-op. I had my 3rd follow up with my bariatric team on yesterday, 17 pds lost since surgery. I was on Clear liquids for ythe 1st week. Now I can have a protien shake along with the clear liquids. I must say, I miss chewing. TV food commercials look so good now. I don't think I paid that much attention to them in the past. My family is very supportive, but they will eat anything in front of me...no shame...lol.

I did experience a lot of burping in the begining. I was told that i was not sipping, I was gulping and that causes the burping. I was instructed to let the liquids roll down my throat. I tried that, but find myself still needing to swallow. I take in small amounts of Fluid at a time and just prepare for the burp.

I have a lil pain in my left side, but that could be from riding on the terrible roads in NJ. I am no longer taking any of the post-op medications. I have only had 2 BMs since surgery and that was with the assistance of M.O.M. This is strange for me because I gerneral go shortly after eating. I have not had a movement since Tues. I will bring this up with my team on tomorrow. Maybe I need another dose of m.o.m.

I am very pleased so far. One of the best things that has happened so far is that I have been smokefree for over a week. I wish I didn't punk out of surgery before, but it's my time now.
