  1. this site is SO FRUSTRATING! it takes forever to go from page to page and it won't let me edit my tracker, so I tried to do a new one and now that is not working either!! GRRRR. What's going on? This is such a great place to come to find out things, but it's useless if you can't look for things since it takes 5 minutes just to load a page!

  2. well, I had mine on 5-22 and I hit a stall on week 3 until yesterday. What's that - a 4 week stall? I lost 30 lbs and then hung out there. Today I lost 4 lbs. Who knows why, maybe my body REALLY liked it at the 30 lbs loss. But after I had shrunk down (really, I went down an entire SIZE, and lost no lbs) I am starting to lose again. So maybe it's that my body didn't want a ton of loose skin??

All I know is that I kept to the foods, tried to eat less than 50 carbs a day, and get in 80 grs of Protein and even if the scale doesn't show it - LOTs of my friends are noticing. And my closet is a more open place to try clothes on now. So stay the course. Even if the scales doesn't show - your body will. And sooner or later you WILL lose that weight!

  3. I am so glad you asked this question. I am 8 days out and on the 7th day, I could drink a mouthful of Water with no problem. I worried that I was going to do some harm to the new belly, but I have no side effects at all. I really love water and I was so glad to be able to drink again. Now, I am breaking it up with some Nestle Prue Life Splash. It's not as sweet as the fruit 2 0, and it seems as if it's easier on me, too. I also hold the h20 in my mouth and exhale before I swallow, so I don't get any additional air in the new sleeve.

  4. I had my surgery on May 22nd. I tried to make sure i didn't have any extra air when i was swallowing. I guess my regular way to swallow used a lot of air and it felt like my chest was ready to explode. Now I take Water or broth into my mounth and then exhale and then swallow. After I started this little trick, my chest pain went away. Although, I still stand to drink most fluids. This worked for me and I hope it works for you, too. I'm doing well, and getting in my Protein now without a problem. Well, I'm getting close to the 60 to 70 that my dr recommends - yesterday I had 53 grams. But every day gets a bit easier and I hope all the best for you, too.

  5. Hi to all the May 22nders. I did pretty well with the surgery and got out the next day. HOWever, I couldn't drink enough h20 and still had bad gas pains that weds. But, Thusday came and I was rid of all the gas and problems. I've moved on from Clear Liquids to full liquids and I'll be on those until 2 weeks after the 22nd. Then on to whirred foods for 2 weeks, and then, finally to textures at the end of next month. I feel great, and I'm going back to work on Weds. I've driven my car the last two days and have had no problems at all. I can drink, normally and don't have to do the sip thing - but I do exhale the air out before I swallow. It seems as if swallowing for me the regular way I used to do it - gave me too much air in my new tummy, and that hurt! Now all I need to do is find a good reliable list of how much Protein is in everything, so I can accurately chart my intake. Hey, for a 56 year old - this was a pretty great experience.

  6. I am on Full Liquids for two weeks and then, on to the pureed stage for another 2 weeks. I don't get mushies until sometime next month. I guess my surgeon is more restrictive than others. But , for me, it's working great. My tummy is a complete unknown. I'm just starting to understand about the need for a gas-x strip before bed...and what happens if I don't eat every 3 hours (super light headed). How do you long termers deal with the mornings? I can't even talk I'm so in need of Protein? Do you eat before bed time? Or is this something I'll get used to? I am eating my 60 grams of protein a day and drinking my 48 oz of h2o, but dang!

  7. Hi to all the May sleevers - I had mine done on May 22nd and today, 3 days later, I'm feeling pretty great. I had a pedi and a hair cut today, went shopping at the grocery, and ate some (about 1/3 cup) chicken chile (healthy request) blended and strained tonight for dinner while the boys had wings and pizza. Didn't even miss that pizza! At first when I came home, I didn't feel so great, gas pains and couldn't keep down h2o. But every hour I got better and happily, I'm feeling great. Walking my dogs, and sipping the smallest amounts of h2o and for some reason, I like the COLD better - lots of ice chips for me. I guess we are all different, since I read that alot of people liked the warm better. For me, cold is better. I feel like the next part of my life is opening before me! Yeah!!
