  1. I second amp from gnc, in warm water they taste like hot chocolate and blended with ice and a little milk they taste like a milkshake yum yum
  2. I had surgery on Thursday. It hurts but the pain is bearable, it's worst when you first wake up and the more you walk the better you will feel, really.
  3. Tell your fiancé to take care of anything he needs to before or during surgery, your not going to want to wait around while he say.. Waits at the captain ds window for ten minutes :/ also take you pain medicine with you. Listen to the nurses and get up and walk as soon and as much as you can. It's going to Hurt but it really helps
  4. Tomorrow is my big day also!! I am so excited.
  5. Nectar is a brand of protein, they have all different flavors. I ordered a sample pack from bjs bariatrics because they have Been recommended to me by so many people. So far very good. And the amp if from gnc best chocolate that I've found
  6. Your so creative! I just got some nectar shakes in today, I had the cappuccino it was good no aftertaste.
  7. Of course we will! We all know that it's for the better. We want to be healthy otherwise we wouldn't have done all the things we had to do pre op. it's just a matter of finding another way to deal with emotions!
  8. I think it's important for your loved ones to be aware that this is very stressful, normally we eat our stress and we can do that so that stress and frustration has to come out. I think that if we make sure that they understand that and apologize when we do have a moment, they will be able to live with us
  9. I was told that bananas are ok but not encouraged, berries are preferred because bananas have more sugar. So maybe a banana every few days.
  10. I need to see a counselor, it's on my list. Food addiction is no joke, I always knew that I was addicted I just never realized what that really meant until I cannot eat. Ugh
  11. Yum that sounds good, maybe it will make the vanilla shakes that I have tolerable
  12. I don't have any wise words to add. Just know that your not alone, and I am sure that it will get better.... It has to, right?
  13. Thanks Jen, it does help to stay busy!
  14. I have mixed with water and also done it with milk, it tastes fine either way. The amp is very tasty mixed with warm water... Hot chocolate yum
  15. I was also told 800-1000 cals and at least 60g protien. Wasn't given guidlines for sugar or carbs probably because what I was told to eat is very low in both
  16. Some shakes that I like are gnc amp, two scoops instead of the three that it reccomends, gnc lean shake, and I have recently ordered nectar shakes. When your looking for a shake make sure it's not full of sugar and carbs the gnc amp has none of either I think. Just don't do like slim fast of something like that, too much sugar not enough protien.
  17. Sounds similar to my pre op diet except I am allowed one lean meal. Any high quality protien shake is ok just make sure it is low in fat, sugar and carbs. For me a good guideline is under 200 calories and at least 25 grams of protien per shake. I blend mine with fruit and ice or sometimes black coffee. Another guideline that I was given is to get 800-1000 calories a day and 60 g of protien. Maybe three shakes and broth between meals for you? a key to this diet is to drink drink drink, stay busy and know that after day three it gets easier
  18. Thanks y'all!! I really needed to hear that. This is so hard, It's like this morning my husband was ugly with me and all I wanted to do was eat some Cookies but I couldn't. I never realized how much I eat my emotions until its just not an option. It's all for the better of course I know that, but for some reason the thought of that distant better life and health just isn't helping in the now.
  19. IM having lap band on Thursday and I am so depressed. Pre op diet Started out ok, day 5 I had the best mood ever, now today I am just crying about everything way over sensitive. I am realizing now more than ever how addicted I really am. I hope it gets better soon
  20. So I am having lap band on Thursday!!! Yay I'm so excited. My question is, what shoul be on my shopping list? What really helps you get through
  21. What's your plan and how much did you end up paying out of pocket?
