  1. I'm only two weeks post op but I think it's normal to not have any restriction possibly until you have had two or three fills. If your pain at the port site is getting worse that might be something to be concerned about.
  2. I started alot like you! My highest weight was 270 and at 5'2 that's alot of weight! I was required to do a 6 mo doctor supervised diet and one month I decided to buckle down and get serious. I lost ten pounds in one month, and got so depressed during that month. During the pre op diet my emotions were like a roller coaster ride one day I was energetic and happy the next I was crying at the drop of a hat. Your gonna get tired of hearing this but it really does get easier. Don't they say it takes one month to form a new habit? Do your two week pre op diet after surgery you'll likely be on a very restrictive diet for another two weeks, bam that's a month. Right after surgery you won't even want to eat! Even as you are healing you won't be able to very much at one time at all. I'm rambling... Take care, you'll be fine
  3. I'm feeling so much better!! Still some pain at my incisions but I can do most things with minor discomfort. Sitting straight up for a long period of time is uncomfortable. I also try to limit bending over. But I feel alot better!
  4. My doctor prefers a certain brand, that is nasty! So I went to gnc and got a different one with similar protien calorie carb and sugars. What he doesn't know won't hurt him
  5. Fage Greek yogurt has 23 g of protien per 1 cup. I think that's an excellent way to get a good amount if protien without drinking a shake
  6. Cottage cheese is a very textured mushie, maybe try thin mashed potatoes or yogurt first. Also make sure your taking small bites and waiting between bites
  7. I'm glad in not the only one that still hurts. I really think I've been going and doing too much. Church last sunday, ball games tuesday, church then Walmart Wednesday( VERY bad idea) ball practice Friday, errands Saturday( another really bad idea all that getting in and out of the car killed me) then church and a bday party today. I am not doing much of anything around the house. But I think all the going and doing is keepin that port site inflamed
  8. I was banded in the 10th. And I still have pain and bruising at my port site. Has anyone else has pain linger for more than a week?
  9. Mine still hurts! I have some bruising I wonder if I have some deep tissue bruises in addition to what I see
  10. I also had surgery on the 10th, and I am still having pain st my port site ugh, anyone else?
  11. Apple chips sprinkled with Splenda and cinnamon ...yum
  12. Immediatly post op the best thing for gas pains is to walk. My surgeons office told me to walk ten minutes every hour! I sometimes split it up to like five minutes ever half hour. It hurts to get up and down, I know and it hurts to stand and move. But I am a week and a day post op and my gas pains have been minimal, I never have had it migrate into my shoulder. Walking really does help start as soon as you get back to your room and are cleared to do so, it also helps healing and helps prevent blood clots
  13. I think oatmeal Is a purée but cream of wheat is on my full liquid stage
  14. Sounds about like my pain I'm seven days post op and now the only pain I have left is at my port site, and it's not even really painful just uncomfortable.
  15. My husband did the same thing! I let him know how much it bothered me and guess what seven days post op... He is still doing it! Grrr. Isk if it's over sensitive or not but I can tell you this- it's easier to deal with the longer you stick with the eating plan that your supposed to be on. My hubby actually stopped for fast food on the way home from my surgery, they just don't think! Just keep your eye in the prize cause it gets a little easier every day!
  16. Unjury is ok a little stirred into pudding was not detectable for me the chicken broth mix half and half with ff chicken broth was ok but when I added it to crystal light... Yuck! Good thig I only bought sample packs
  17. It's not your port site is it? I'm seven days out and my port site still hurts
  18. Hope not either, the liquid phase is so hard!
  19. I was not. Day of surgery and day after was clear liquids only. Then starting on day three I could add protien shakes, yogurt, soup
  20. Oh a same day friend would have been nice. I also walked walked walked asuch as it hurts do it anyway. Those that say they wake up from surgery hungry, I cannot imagine that, food was the last thing on my mind
  21. I had surgery on Thursday, and I know what your talking about! It's pretty awesome being full after such a small amount
  22. Oh too think too many chunks, hope you recover quickly
