  1. My stomach is still swollen and feels bloated. I'm 5 days post op. I'm worried about what I'll wear to work! Anyone know what helps? When will it go down?

I would say stick to your larger pair of work pants. I wore a tighter pair of work pants and could barely sit to drive, it was horrible! Although it fits over the ass, the belly is a bit bloated still. I'm wondering when the belly starts to unbloat?

  2. I recommend a Magic Bullet.....you can mash any cooked veggie or fruit in it and play with the consistently by adding Water, milk, butter, yogurt, stevia, broth or whatever......this way you get some produce In cooked or raw, and lay off the added salts and preservatives. find a cold Protein Powder that can go sweet or salty and add that in too! I like the Simply Complete non dairy Protein powder.< /p>

  3. I know there were a lot of people that got banded on June 5th' date=' so I was wondering if we were all doing the same routine and on the same page as far as how we feel goes.

I weighed myself for the first time today, and I am 10 pounds down from the day before the surgery. That alone makes me feel wonderful. Yesterday I was able to go to Bealle Street in Memphis and watch my husband run the Gibson 5k and watch him eat shrimp and fries and beer afterward. I walked over a mile, was not tempted to eat any bad food, and the only negative was that I was EXHAUSTED when I got home.

Car rides do not feel good yet. Going to Beale Street (30 minute drive) I had such severe back pain that we had to stop at Walgreens and get a couple of heating Patches to put on my back. Plus my jeans cover my belly button, and my surgeon put stitches in my belly button, so I had to spend most of the day with my jeans unbuttoned so it wouldn't rub against my stitches!

As far as food is concerned my mom went out and bought me a 6 oz bowl, and told me I couldn't eat anything that didn't fit into it. So throughout the day I am having 4-5 oz of mashed potatoes, one sugar free Jello, chocolate Jello pudding (my favorite), and cream of wheat and I am getting very full. I know I am not getting enough liquids throughout the day, because I am only going to the bathroom two - three times on average, so that is something I am going to have to step up.

Oh and last, I slept on my stomach last night! I am a tummy sleeper, and to have slept on my back since Tuesday was a killer. I slept on my stomach with the heating pad on my back, and I woke up feeling like a new woman.

I really had some hard days the first two or three days, with such pain I felt like I was having a child, but days like today really make this whole surgery and process worth it. I hope everybody else banded on June 5th is having just as much success![/quote']

I was banded June 4th, I too am a tummy sleeper and was able to at least sleep in a bed last night on my side rather than a recliner! Keep me posted....

  4. I agree it will get better ( banded 24th May ) the gas took a good week to feel better' date=' Walk, Gasx, heat, Hang in there.

My Lapband. Nurse said it could take some people upto a few weeks for all the gas to disapate. I was banded 6/4 and feel tiny bits left in my neck and shoulders. Do you still feel like the anesthesia is in you? I went back to work yesterday and felt quite drugged. Not sure If it was the liquid Hydrocodo or anesthesia.

  5. I had a bad month in March' date=' I guess I was too comfortable. I gained 1.5 lbs. I know I ate all the wrong things, and didn't exercise enough.

I'm almost 6 mos out from surgery and my weight loss is 49 ( I think ). I was so happy in my March weigh in for losing 10, now I gained 1.5 back.

I am having a hard time getting motivated and making myself go walk. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am no where near done with my weight loss. Not even half way to my goal.

    Any feedback is welcome!

    Thank you![/quote']

I'm having a bad month too. I'm in the six month pre op period and I find myself binging and eati g things I know I won't be able to eat with a band. Is this normal?

  6. Yay! It feels good not to be alone <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> wishing you the very best! I'm having it at University of Illinois Hospital.

I'm end of may!! right behind you ladies! They won't schedule my surgery until my 6 month visit is complete which is on May 3.....so I guess I'll find out my band date then- they said it would be end of May, I'll be heart broken if its different.
