  2. I was just schedulef for the 11th. Can't wait to share our journey!
  3. Yay for you! Definitely something to celebrate.
  4. My doctor's office called this morning and said they were submitting my paperwork to insurance and then called me at the end of the day to say it was approved. I have no idea how they managed it that quickly but I am so thankful especially since it took forever for the psych report to be written. Monay, June 11 will be the first day of the rest of my life and I can't wait to get started!
  5. I am still in the process of completing my pre-op requirements. I hope to have surgery in May. When hearing about the rate of success, it is often about 40-50%. My question is, if you religiously stick to your diet, exercise, and fills, are most people successful?
  6. Hey all! Guess I should introduce myself as I am beginning this journey. I had my first consult today with the surgeon. He said if everything goes as planned I should be able to have the surgery within two months, which I am very excited about! I have all of my prereq. appointments scheduled and will be completed by April 24th. I am using the Bluepoint Group in Virginia. I have been very encouraged by the boards here and they have been so helpful already. It's nice to be able to go on here with a question and get an answer immediately.
  7. Everything went well! I am so excited. He said I should be able to have the surgery within 2 months. He did not give me a goal weight or anything like that but was very realistic and positive about what I should expect. He also did not pressure me in to one of the other surgeries which was very reassuring. So far, I have my psych eval scheduled, the meetings with the exercise, behavior, and nutritionist person, and all of my tests. Potomac Hospital has a cool thing where you can make an appointment and have all those tests done in one day. All this stuff will be done by Apr. 24th!
  8. Glad everything went well. Love the last statement! I have been thinking the same thing about myself. My appointment is tomorrow morning at 9.
  9. Hey there! I am a newbie too. Just went to a seminar on Friday at Stafford Hospital and have my first consult this Friday. What a coincidence. I also have Anthem. Are you going through the Bluepoint Group or someone else? I have the choice of Inova at Fair Oaks or Potomac. Potomac is closer to us. The office called me on Monday to say that Anthem will cover my surgery without any dieting pre-requisits. Good luck with you visit. Look forward to hearing about it.
