1. I'm still pre op and need to lose 15 pounds before I can schedule surgery. Last week I went out looking for Proteins, and found what in my opinion is the best ever. I got pro7ein in vanilla. It's very light you mix it with Water. But I also mix it with almond butter or fruit before workout. It has 35 grams of Protein in 10oz. I'm so excited I found it and wanted to share with you all.

  2. I did find out that others from my Options were referred to Saint B's also and assigned to one of the 2 doctors. Just another change in procedure I guess. I pressed to see if I could get any info on the possible wait time for surgery and was told it was not available until after the Aug. 3rd surgery consult "that is what the consult is for". I have looked for an office number to the Redlands location and have not located it. All I can do is keep calling the surgical center for a cancelation. Good news is I am finally motivated to do some serious weight loss as I get closer so I have been eating low carb and it is working. Excited for how close you are getting (Nina88) and looking forward to my day being here before tooooooo long!

Thats great! I'm also feeling the weight loss bug. I'm so motivated, and excited to get a work out in every day. I'm working on that 15 pounds to move my surgery date sooner.

  3. Kaiser is so crazy... completed Options April 25th and then the long Fontana wait for a Mental Health exam' date=' that was June 25th, today I got the call for my Surgery Consult and I was for Dr. Philip Lou Chin at St. Bernardine's specifically. No Hub referral -with a choice of West LA or Torrance. Dr. Chins first available consult date is Aug. 3rd. Trying to be glad I have that..... but will call his office tomorrow to see how far out his surgery schedule is and if I need to figure out why I was specifically assigned to him and how if possible to transfer to West LA or Torrance.[/quote']

Did you call to find out why you were referred saint b's?

  4. It will get better. Try a different Protein, the one I use keeps me satisfied and I'm 270 so I know what you mean about being on a reduced calories, keep drinking Water. I'm on 2-3 shakes a day. For lunch I have 2 egg white omelet with veggies, and for dinner some Protein and salad loaded with veggies.

About the pills I would call and ask them doctor if you can take it before surgery its a powerful stimulant that may have side effects.

  5. Nina88' date=' if you want to do Atkins, I would ask your doc just to be sure it's ok, but on Atkins you can't have juice of any kind. You eat meat, eggs, cheese, etc. NO fruits of any kind. You can have up to 15 grams of carbohydrates a day, but that's barely anything. It's best to not have any. Read labels or eat only whole foods (meat) and you will be ok. It takes some shopping ahead, some meal prep and some boredom with food, but you don't have to starve yourself to lose weight. You basically eat when you are hungry, and ONLY Protein. I don't think it's the healthiest option for a long period (I was on it for 2 years a few years ago and that was tough) but it works. Check your Protein shakes - they are probably full of carbs. Best wishes!![/quote']

Thanks that makes sense. I saw the doctor on Mon he wants me to lose 15 pounds before surgery. I'm starting a new protein and replacing 2 meals with it., and have protein meals. I hope I lose it soon, as of now my surgery is scheduled for 8/31.

Wow I don't know what they are doing over there. The good thing is you get to stay close to home. It's a long drive to west LA. Keep calling them to ask about getting in sooner.

As of now my surgery date is august 31st. If I lose 10 sooner than my preop appointment I may go sooner. So I'm on a mission, bought a new Protein and I'm going to replace 2 meals with it. And up my exercise.

  7. Hey what is MACA???can you please explain in detail...how does it work and what is it used for?i have pco too but it's get better after my surgery and one year later I conceived and just had a baby baby boy.

Sent from my iPad using VST

I use it to help stimulate my endocrine system to help with my hormone imbalance and period.

Maca is a root plant native to Peru. It is considered both a food and a medicine by indigenous people. It is consumed by the people of the highlands of Peru of all ages -from three year olds to the elderly. It looks something like a small turnip, either cream-colored or purple when it is harvested. It is rich in Calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and Iron, and contains trace minerals, including zinc, iodine, copper, selenium, bismuth, manganese and silica, as well as B Vitamins. It also contains four alkaloids proven in scientific investigation to nourish the endocrine glands, including the reproductive system of men and women.

Maca has adaptogen qualities, that is, its effects are appropriate to the age and sex of the person using it. It has a long list of uses because of its broad range of nutritional and medicinal properties discovered by both Indians of the Peruvian highlands in ancient times.

Ain't no stoppin us now' date='were on the move !!!!!!
Sincerely
Zeta[/quote']

Did you mention the maca to the doctor. Most don't know what it is. Just take a tiny bit, a little goes a long way the first few times.

  9. I will send my hubby to whole foods to see if that have it today. I have' date=' had fibroid surgery, several Dnc's. Im not trying 2 have another one. I was in a car accident and lost my baby. I did know I was pregnant. A lady hit me from behind.

Thanks a million. Im getting ready to text him the name now. See my doctor in Arkansas told me 2 stay off of birth control. The doctor in Texas put me back on them. Thanks again.

Ain't no stoppin us now, were on the move !!!!!!
Sincerely
Zeta[/quote']

Your welcome. I hope it helps. Don't be scared of you have serious cramps I described them as after birth pains. Take 1/4 of a tsp 3 times a day.

  10. I have Pcos too. My cycle right now is a monster. The bleeding is horrible right now. I think that's another reason' date=' why Im slow to recover. My ob increased my birth control so I can stop bleeding. My surgery doctor said increasing birth control is little dangerous because of the increase of blood clots. I don't want a dnc. I just had the sleeve completed last Tuesday. If I was not trying 2 have a baby. Not now. I would get a hysterectomy.

Zeta I know what you are going through. I was having the same issues and my doctor gave me birth control as the only solution. I asked for an ultrasound sound and was dismissed. I went to the pcp the gyno and er a few times before finally looking for an answer myself. With research in hand I walked into my local health/organic food store looking for a natural herb to help me at least bear the horib period symptoms I was having. Sopke to a girl who changed my life. She recommend Maca. (whole world royal maca) I went home and mixed some in some tea that night and 2 more times the next day by 5 o'clock I had a large mass come out, after the worse cramps of my life but I figured something is working. Freaked out and took it to the er. They studied it and it was the uterus lining. My doctor was floored. I said so had you done an ultrasound as I requested you would have seen what I needed was a dnc he admitted he was wrong and said my body rebooted itself. I never told him my secret of how I healed my self but I did stop all the birth control. And he then referred me to the bariatric program. I still take Maca from time to time to keep my hormones and period happy.
