I am so frustrated with my husband right now. He feels like I have no business getting wls. He tells me it is for lazy people and it is the "easy" way out. We just got in a huge fight and he said no matter what he would support me but that he was entitled to his opinion. I feel so alone in this and frankly he really pissed me off! Help!

I have tried to educate him, but he doesn't want to hear it. I am just not going to say any more about it. He can either deal with it or not. This is about my health and if he doesn't like it.....well, he knows where the door is. I refuse for him to make me miserable because of his own ignorance!

Does anyone know what happens if you gain weight within the 6 MO Dr. Supervised weight loss program? My insurance basically said they just want to make sure u can stick with something for a whole 6 mo. ...I.e.....seeing the doc every mo for 6 mo ......My bmi runs anywhere from 40-42 so I def don't want to go under and get denied. Honestly I have been eating like a pig lately. My primary MD doesn't seem to be concerned with the diet as long as he is documenting that I am "following" the diet.....basically he is all for the surgery, he is just documenting for insurance purposes.

Hello all! I am new to this site, but so far i love it! Everyone has such great advice and are so supportive! I am 27 years old, 2 kids and am a nurse at a local hospital. I have been overweight my whole life and been looking into wls for about 5 years. My insurance just changed at work and by the grace of God, WLS is covered!!!!! I am 5'3 and currently 247....Yikes! I am not only having wls to lose weight, but i am doing it because I am way to yound to have the health issues that I do! Just in the past year I have been put on BP meds, and an anti-depressant. My labs showed high LDL and high C-reactive protein. I am too young for this!!! Can't wait until the fall so I can get my surgery date scheduled and get my life back!!

I had my daughter when I was 18 also! Then added her sister almost 2 years ago......

Take some deep breaths.......do not worry until you actually have something to worry about......keep on with your 6 MO diet and don't stress about losing your job because at this point that is out of your hands. Just show up every day and do your best work. As far as the bitterness and being over weight I think that goes hand in hand for a lot of over weight people. Have you seeked any counseling for these feelings you are having? An outside opinion can never hurt.
