Welcome Sammie! I was sleeved 4/23 and have only had a few issues. I had "slimmies" for first time yesterday, not fun! I struggle with skipping eating b/c get busy and not hungry, then I ate too fast, dud not vomit, but hadasdive amounts of slimy sputum keep burping up. Sorry to be graphic, but learn fromy mistake....go slow, small bites, feed the sleeve on regular schedule, etc. You will get a lot of great advice here. -

I turned 50 in Feb and your story mirrors mine in so many ways! I am 6 days post op and down 25 lbs since start. About 18 of that was preop. I had some nausea day 1 and doing well since. I get to start "mushies" tomorrow and need to walk more! Yay 50-I think it will be one of our best! -

I am supposed to be on clears for a full week, I think this weekend I may have to have a protein shake or SF pudding.....tired of broth!

At 48 hrs out I feel so much better, sleeping in my own bed and not awakened so much for vitals, or beeping IV poles, etc. I am getting down the one ounce cups of water and protein drink more easily today. Yesterday even little sips too often made me gag....decrease of swelling at beginning of sleeve is probably what making it easier to get down liquid, which hopefully will help avoid dehydration! -

First day post op and I agree, very thirsty, cannot drink until leak test done in awhile. I am in Charlotte(mint hill, actually) and had surgery at Mercy-all staff have been great, EXCELLENT care! -

I did it! Am now officially sleeved less than 24 hours ago. I did have nausea after, even with patch behind my ear, it's Better now, got up twice to walk and that helps. Could not get ice chips until after midnight, and must do one chip at a time.....burps hurt some, -
You just wrote exactly what I am thinking Chell! We are sleeve twins at 11am....waiting to be called back and thinking the same stuff....no second thoughts, chin up......I have already felt the thrill of thinner face, hands, feet from preop diet....and I like it! Where are you having surgery? I am in NC.

I am waiting to go in for 11am sleeve date. Last night before bedtime I drank a big Isopure drink so I would have the 40grams protein on board today. I woke up at 3am wanting water SO bad....and am NPO after midnight! I feel parched, protein drinks evidently make you thirsty:/ right now I can only think of a sip of water....and none coming anytime soon.

I get sleeved Monday, 4/23......last minute preparations underway. I should have bought the unjury chicken broth, I hear. I thought jello with protein would be better, but now I am reading that fresh sleeves like warm stuff.....

Way to go Stacie! I am also sleeving Monday, 4/23 at 11am in Charlotte, NC. Here is a tip: Isopure drinks from GNC work well in jello, just use it in lieu of the cup of cold water.....mix and match the flavors to add protein to jello for that first week, could also use Gatorade 3 which has protein -
Wow, you sound like you have done well! I get sleeved in Charlotte Monday, 11am....anxious but soooo ready! Wish me luck! I cannot do any more Preop diet....2 weeks was long enough, lost variety:/

Wow, how inspiring! I am 9 days prior to surgery and keep having second thoughts. Many in my life do not understand why I would take such a drastic leap, but I am reminded as I read your post. Thank You!

If all goes well 4/5/12 when my big Polyp gets removed from my colon......then I get sleeved 4/23/12 in Charlotte, NC! Anxious, excited, scared as hell!
