    God Made Me

Best advice I heard from a friend is "It's okay to let someone help you." I didn't get any answer specifically from God, but I asked for an answer that I could plainly tell was an answer from HIM, or to give me serene peace, and boy did I have peace! I wasn't worried about it at all until about 30 mins before surgery and I think nerves just got the best of me. And then to top it off, I have had little to no pain since the surgery 6 days ago. It's amazing! All praise to the Father! Praying for you!
  5. My wife had the bad three years ago and did really well, and I was going to get it too, but then I saw how she stalled, and how she had to keep going back for fills and I didn't want the hassle. Sure, it's more invasive and things "could" go wrong, and you can't reverse it, but the more I looked at it, it seemed like exactly what I wanted. I wanted something I could get done, and then from there, learn how to eat right...not keep going back and forth to the doctor to add/remove fluids in a band.

    Incisions

Try a protein bullet. Small 3oz fruity flavored protein shots. When I added those on day 3, I instantly felt much better and had some energy. I have these things called "Super Energy Shot" by Body Fortress that I have for breakfast while I'm on liquids.

    Ultra Fitbit

I don't have this, but I will be getting it. I want the Nike Fuel band, but not gonna pay $200 for something like that, and since I don't like wearing a watch, I wonder if I'd like wearing that, so I keep coming back to the fitbit.
  8. Had my sleeve on 4/12 and surprisingly only hurt for about a day or two. Feeling good when I eat/drink. It's hard being around the people eating other things tho, as my nose still works and it smells great! Haven't weighed myself yet, bug know I already lost weight and am focusing on healing and learning now, not the numbers...YET. Looking for friends to just chit chat with.

    Post Op And Feeling Great!

Today's gonna be easy. All I'm thinking is "tomorrow I feast on pudding!"

    Post Surgery Question

Yeah boy! Moved here almost seven years ago. Chiefs fan first, Texans second, but still...excited about this season also! AJ's a BEAST! Hopefully Schaub will be back to normal!
  11. Is it true that after you have the sleeve, you don't even crave food anymore? I swear during my consult that my dr said that the sleeve process removes the portion of the stomach that tells your brain you're hungry, so you have to force yourself to eat???

    Post Op And Feeling Great!

I buy the snack packs for my kiddos but if I didn't, they'd help me finish off pudding.

    Post Op And Feeling Great!

Wow...you're daring! I came to work for the first time today, and have done really well. I need to find out from my doctor's office what exactly I need to be shooting for, for Protein, etc, a day. I found these great 3oz protein bullets, and just want to make sure I do everything by the book as long as I can. I've spent way too much money (all out of pocket), and want this to work so bad, that I don't want to jeapordize anything. I can't wait for Thursday though, as that's gonna be pudding DAY!!! My favorite thing to eat now is sugar-free banana pops. Can't get enough and they're only 10 cals! BOOYAH!
  14. Not nervous. Ready to be done and to learn how to eat better with the sleeve. Praying for a fast recovery.
  15. How are you doing since your surgery? Hopefully you're doing well!
  16. Yup, my wife is a nurse and she had the band a few years ago, so I know all about how that gas pain looked, and so I was up and moving as fast as I could. It's been a few days now, and honestly, I'm surprised at how well I feel! My doctors did an amazing job, and the pain meds are doing what they should. I'm not pushing myself too hard, but just taking it easy and letting my body heal. I told my boss I might have to take some days off this week, but it's looking ilke I'll be able to go back to work on Monday! I won't be able to lift anything, but I'm an IT guy, so I can work from my computer.
  17. Doing really well all. There's pain but probably only because I'm pushing myself. The pain from the CO2 isn't bad because I'm walking a bunch. Meds going down well and staying on top of them. Hoping I can feel well enough to get back to work ASAP.
  18. Sleeve finished. I feel I'm doing very well. I can walk pretty far already. Not alot of gas pains.
  19. Anyone will lose 30 lbs with basically a liquid diet for a month. Makes me wonder why I don't just try to do that! Ha! Seriously though, I know my desire to eat wont be there but seeing my diet messes with my head. My surgery is scheduled for April 12th, btw
