Diet After bariatric Surgery
- Commercials
I was the same way for my first 2-3 weeks. For me it was all those commercials with the big juicy steaks! I was going crazy with all the cravings. It does past. The more you are able to eat, the fewer cravings you will have. I am almost two months and still haven't gotten that steak. Dont even like the taste of red meat anymore. It's all part of the process!- Period. From. Hell.
I hate auto correct! I hope people can make sense of my last post.- Period. From. Hell.
I has not had a period in years since I have no ovaries. However I for one after the surgery and it was almost two weeks. Even when I did get my period it only ever lasted for 3-4 days. I know it has everything to do with the hormones that are being released and bombarding our body.- Im A May Sleever!
I was sleeved on 5/30 and lost 27 pounds total. I have been in a stall for just over 3 weeks and I am starting to get very nervous. I don't know what to do to break this stall. I've tried all protien and no carbs, light carbs and proteins and today I am going to try heavy carbs. I just want to scream!- Atkins Advantage
Those are my absolute favorite. I love how "thin" the texture is. I can't stomach those think and chalky shakes. I also had to kick coffee for my pre-op liquid diet and there is a chocolate cafe flavor that was so good! I still drink those now 6 weeks post op.- Did You Or Are You Keeping Your Sleeve A Secret?
Damn!- Still In Stall!
I was sleeved on May 30th and have been in a stall for almost four weeks! I was taking it pretty well for the first 3 weeks but now I am frustrated and concerned and disgusted and angry. I am trying to be more patient and I know the weight will come off eventually. It is just a frustrating thing to see no movement in the scale for so long!- Hard To Get In Breakfast
Has anyone noticed that their sleeve is tighter in the morning? I think this is happening to me. I can barely get in 2-3 ounces in the mornings. No problems in the afternoon or evening. It's getting to the point that I want to skip breakfast altogether but I know that is a no-no. It doesn't help that I am six weeks out and have been in a stall for the last 3.- Hello And Getting Closer To Scheduling My Surgery!
Good for you!- 3 Weeks Out And Very Pleased -
Congrats on getting it done so quickly! Next time you are able to chicken it will only be a misdemeanor. Lol.- Food Porn ( Graphic)
- Holy Extra Skin Batman!
That was too cute. And funny. Sorry!- Sh*t I've Learned From This Board!
That is very true! The NSV's should have been number one!- Almost 50Lbs Gone Forever
Very well done!- Sh*t I've Learned From This Board!
I love this site! I get all my questions answered and you all have never steered me wrong. My top 5: #5 milk of magnesia is the nectar of the gods! That stuff works like nothing else. And with no discomfort. #4. Stalls happen. Deal with it. The weight will come off. It has no choice. I can't maintain all this fat on my current caloric intake. #3. Plan your meals ahead of time. If you dont know what you are going to eat, you are more likely to make poor choices. #2. Never trust a fart! That is one I just took everyone's word for. I have no desire to learn that on my own. I trust you all! #1. If I think it or have a question about it, put it on the board. Someone out there has experienced it before and knows what to do! What have you learned?- 1 Week Post-Op
The first 2-3weeks post op are the worst for cravings! Maybe it's because that is when we are on the most restrictive diet in that we just get consume a lot of food or liquids. Just be strong and know that it will pass.- Freinds...how Many Of Us Have Them?
I think that was a great video. She has an interesting perspective, having been on both sides of the coin. Thanks for sharing!- Otc Med For Nausea
I didn't think about that. I can take my motion and car sickness meds. Thanks!- Otc Med For Nausea
I've been very nauseous the last few days and vomit after eating very little. Even water now is making me nauseous and I already struggle with getting in all my protein and water at 5 weeks post op. I'm not sick (I feel great) and I'm not complaining either but I would love to keep some food down. I'm in a 3 week stall and want to lose the weight in a healthy manner. Anything OTC that has worked for others? I hate that I can't have a nice cold ginger ale!- If I Dont Lose The 10Lbs
If you replace one or two meals a day with a protien shake and have a low calorie/high protein dinner you will lose that in no time at all. It just sounds scary but you can do it!- Trouble With Vitamins
Try breaking it up throughout the day. This has helped me not get nauseous when I take vitamins. I take one every few hours just before I eat. Have a piece of cheese or a half of a slice of deli meet between meals to take one. It's too hard on my sleeve to take such dense vitamins And minerals at one time. It takes longer but I don't mind. - Commercials
