  1. I am having my surgery on May 16th at St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. I am so excited. I will be celebrating two birthdays from here on!
  2. Thanks. That is on the list.
  3. Great into. Thanks!
  4. I don't sleeve for another six weeks but would like to start my shopping for pre and post op foods. Any "must haves" that you found? I have to do two weeks liquid diet post and am so scared I will be intolerably mean and snappy. Good thing i live alone! While I will have family in and out for the first few weeks, I would love to just make sure I have everything I need on hand. So please give me a good shopping list! Also, does anyone think I need to have someone stay with me for a few days?
  5. At my heaviest, I wore a size 20. But I have always fluctuated between a 16-18. I realize I am not the largest person here but I have very similar goals and wishes. I can't wait to not wear layers in the summer time, to be able to just wear a tank top and a skirt, to be able to get sexy underwear that matches, to not worry about being the biggest person at the gym, to not hide from pictures, to not walk past all the cute clothes and suits in the store for the dreaded "plus" or "women's" section, and to not feel invisible when I walk past a nice looking guy. I can't wait to have a doctors appointment and NOT have weight be an issue. But most of all, I can not wait to go and buy that ever-elusive "little black dress" (which for now is not so little).
  6. Check the new insurance rules! Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Illinois just dropped the 6 month wait. And my insurance is from Tennessee, and they don't have a wait either. I would say double check with your insurance company every month or do just to make sure they haven't dropped that antiquated wait policy. All it serves to do is have people get discouraged and drop out.
  7. I got the call on Tuesday that my insurance approved my surgery. No wait. My insurance is scheduled for May 16th, 2012. I would have it tomorrow if I could but I am going on a 15 member family cruise scheduled for mid-April and didn't want to worry about pre-op diet on a cruise. I am 5'7" and 265lbs. I will be 40 in October and refuse to be 40 and fat! The only part I am worried about it the pre-op diet. I get pretty nasty when I'm hungry and I do marketing and presentations for a living. I hope I don't get short tempered with anyone!
