  1. Madam I feel like you and I are kind of in the same boat. I said when I turned 29 that If I hadn't lost the weight by the time I was 30, I was having the procedure. I turned 30 on Jan 31 and had my band done Friday Feb 16th. It is a tumultous process. The liquid diet is hell. You get depressed, you get angry, you give up things that you don't really want to (like beer and soda) but the bottom line is I want to feel good and look good more than I want to drink a Dr. Pepper. My eating habits were terrible and this whole process has made me take a good hard long look at myself. This is also going to help my family, I have a son that is overweight and now there is a whole new "food" perspective in my house. I was having asthma and problems so now I can look forward to a new me. Good luck in your decision!
  2. Fourtunatley I work with 3 other banded people and 3 that have had gastric bypass. Me and friend are going through this at the same time. She wanted to keep her's a secret but we work in such a small office it wasn't working too well. I've been very open about what i've done becasue if I hadn't watched my co-workers go on their own journeys, i probably would have never had this done. If my experience will help someone else I would want them to know. I told my husband if he didn't want to tell anyone he could just say i'm having a cyst removed. I also didn't want my children to know so I just told them I had stomach surgery to fix something that's all, and that basically explains the diet. Everyone has been real supportive so I'm fourtunate.
  3. I'm post op day 4 and for the last few days i'm having alot of pain in the left side of my back. Is this normal?
  4. Yeah, today is my 4th day after surgery, i'm not depressed but I've got this feeliing like, "okay, enough already, i'm ready to get ON with my normal life." I did go to out by myself for a bit but that was kind of hard, my depth perception is a little off for whatever reason. Just give yourself some time. Any kind of surgery is enough to make you feel out of whack and not like yourself.
