  1. I take two prilosec a day as well. Unfortunately, I still have spasms.
  2. I do take 500 MG of magnesium and a B complex. I have to say it does help alot! Just doesn't get rid of it for me. I have very bad bile reflux. I keep saying no RNY but I don't know what the future holds for me. It keeps getting worse everyday.
  3. Will do. I'm originally from GA. Born and raised in Valdosta. I moved to Missouri in 99. I wish I was back home. Thanks again!
  4. Thank you Lisa. I'm so glad you posted and I found you. God Bless you for trying to help me. I'm in Missouri. Where are you? I certainly am going to call my Dr.
  5. And you are right! It hurts so bad!!! I had to leave my daughter's wedding reception because I had one there. I was devastated and people didn't understand! It was terrible. I've had them hit me in the grocery store, doctors office, just anytime when I'm driving. I feel my life is over. I can't do anything.
  6. Oh my you give me hope!!! I'm so tired of this. I take prilosec, Hyocyamine, and carafate. I don't take NSAIDs for sure. Did you have the sleeve surgery or RNY? I'm so tired of this stuff. I will definately ask my Doctor about it. So the pharmacist mixes this up for you? I hope I can get it. Thanks again!
  7. Lisa, what did he prescribe if you don't mind me asking? I'm taking carafate now and muscle relaxers. I would so appreciate if you would share! Thank you.
  8. I am so sorry for your news about your hubby. And on top of that your health issues sound extremely painful and uncomfortable. I too am one of the 3-5 % of patients that have continued to have complications due to the sleeve. Mine are different then yours but I can relate to the time passing and things not getting better as far as the body adjusting. Like you this has been a long haul for me and others as well. I am wondering why you do not want to take the bypass option. This could be the answer to your situation. I had Roux-en-Y loop which is a type of bypass that worked for my leak.....I know your problems are different but I don't understand why you would not take any option open to you after 2 years of struggling with this much pain. You are a trooper I tell you that. I am 16 months out and wonder if I can keep up the journey... Still here so I guess so. Like you happy, happy, happy with the weight lost but wish the trouble was over. A lot of patients who had reflux trouble find it does return after a period of time. I hope that soon your health trouble will ease for you. Again so sorry about your hubby. Please let us know how things are going Yes, I know of four people that have revised because of GERD. One is doing well... all the other three aren't. One of the main reasons is I don't want to risk any more problems. I didn't want gastric bypass ever because I just don't. That is why I chose the sleeve and I know my problems don't compare to what you and others have been through. I've read your posts. I'm blessed really to just have this. The other reason is I can't afford it. I paid for my sleeve and my insurance will not pay for surgery even if I'm having problems. My husband is dying and I can't even think of that now. I'm taking care of him. I just know that if I had known that I would have developed my spasms, I wouldn't have had the surgery but everything is a risk and I've been blessed as I say not to have had more issues as you and others have. 1 in 4 is not good odds. Your problems are just as bad as mine. And deserve the help and attention of professionals. they helped cause the situation. They need to fix it.... You are dealing with so much right now and my heart goes out to you. Thank you for telling me why you are not having the bypass...It is up to each of us to chose for ourselves what is best. You are your own advocate! It is hard when you don't know what can happen. that is why I have put my story out there so it might help others to see that this is not the easy way out. There are people out there that have done this and are paying dearly for it.... I truly hope things improve for you and it bothers me so much that at this time you are dealing with a family night mare..... I am so sorry Lisa Thank you. It really is a nightmare and I know others go through more but my sweet husband is only 48. I am thankful that God gave us this time to get things in order and he wasn't taken from me suddenly. Thanks for your support!

  10. Where do you buy bicarb soda? I have severe gerd and on prilosec twice a day and carafate. Also have upper right side pain all the time with nutcracker esophageal spasms. I'm a sleeve patient.
  11. I've had these horrible things since 10 months out. I will be 2 years in May. I still suffer and the pain is indescribable. I'm taking levsin and levbid for these things and I have severe acid reflux, bile reflux, and gastritis. My husband was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer in January and things have just gotten worse. My surgeon wants to revise to bypass but no way if I can help it. Eating before bed will bring them on. I can't sleep on either side because If I do, I get a spasm. I have to lay on my back propped up and it is miserable. If I had known this would have happend to me, I wouldn't have the surgery. I'm thankful for my weight loss but these thing are the most painful things I've ever had. Feels like a heart attack then labor in my right side. Mine have been diagnosed as Nutcracker esophageal spasms. Im not glad that you have this or anyone does but I'm gald to know I'm not alone. I've been researching and trying to find someone that has had these after sleeve and I came across this post. I posted a long time ago about these things but most didn't know anything about them.
  12. Hi, I know this isn't weight related but I just wanted to vent and cry. A month ago, my husband got very sick and was diagnosed with primary terminal liver cancer. He was given 6 months. My husband is 48!!!! He hasn't ever been sick or ever in the hosptal. He is the best man I've ever known. I'm so lost. I'm devastated. I don't know how to live without him. We've been to at least 10 doctors who tell us that they can't do anything for him. I still have hope because I always say that only God has an expiration date. I realize this isn't the norm to post here and if this is inappropriate, please forgive me. I set up a fund for my family. You can read our story here. https://www.youcaring.com/hopeforbear A cancer diagnosis is so hard. :'( .
  13. Thank you Niki. I hope you are doing better. I often think of you as well. I don't know if you read but my husband has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He is 48. I'm beside myself and can only think of him right now. I'm gaining weight. I've gained 8 pounds. I'm so depressed. I'm trying to take care of myself but at night when he goes to sleep, I comfort myself with eating fudgesicles. Yeah.. Fudgesicles! liquid calories. Makes my tummy feel better and so easy to get down. I need to stop it now. It is so hard though. Let me know how you are doing ok! Praying for you as well!
  14. Yes! So painful!! I would do anything to get rid of them. Not being able to sleep on my sides is crazy. I'm still fighting it. I don't want to have GB. My surgeon is trying to get me to revise. Since my husband has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer, I am so stressed and they are worse. Please keep in touch and let me know how you are and if you decide to do surgery. I know it has been awhile since you posted this. Sorry, just now read it. Good luck on your surgery! Hope all goes well for you.

My husband diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. :'(

Thank you all so much. The prayers are so appreciated. Although I don't understand why this is happening, I know that my Lord is in control and my Bear will be in a better place. He is 48 years old. It is just so sad. We learned yesterday even though he has worked 30 years and paid in his social security, that he still has to wait 5 months for his disability to start. He doesn't even had 5 months according to the Drs. This was an unexpected blow. We are holding on to our faith. We don't know how we will survive during this time. I too am disabled with a back condition last year and esophageal spasms. I worked for 33 years and I had to wait a full year to get my money. This is our money we paid in. NOT THE GOVERNMENTS! My pride is on the floor asking for help. I ask each and everyone of you that has a facebook page to please share this fundraiser with your friends. You don't have to donate. Lord knows some of you may have it worse than I do. I had to pay for my surgery and I'm still paying on this as well. Just share this please!! Thank you and GOD bless you! https://www.youcaring.com/hopeforbear
  16. So so sorry you are having all this trouble!!! I couldn't imagine. Lifting you up in prayer. God bless you honey.

My husband diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. :'(

Thank you so much for the information. Unfortunately, we have exhaused all possibilities. The Dr's say my husbands liver is non functioning and his lab levels are too high even to think about a liver transplant. They won't do treatment because it will shorten his life. He has diabetes and hasn't ever drank alcohol but has last stages of cirrohsis. It is called NASH. He has been sick for awhile but like I said we didn't know. He never complains. He has liver cancer on top of the cirrohosis and it is in the portal vein. Two days ago he had 16 pounds of Fluid taken off of his belly. The work before that , 10 pounds. I don't want to sound like I've given up but I have to be realistic. I am trying him on some natural things that will help cleanse his liver and Vitamins. That is all I know to do.

My husband diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. :'(

Thank you everyone. I don't know what to do with myself. I'm strong for him during the day but when he sleeps, I cry. The worse thing is looking into his eyes knowing nothing can be done. I asked his PCP TWO YEARS AGO to do a CT because he has two brothers and his Dad that died from cancer. He is the baby of the family at 48. He just had a birthday in October. Every doctor we see says it is too far gone. My husband hasn't ever been a complainer. Never been sick. Then he just got really sick two months ago. I did ask the Dr to do a ct two years ago, a year ago, then in August, November and then he got so sick in Dec. HE just didn't see the need eventhough Bear's family had cancer. I think something could have been done if HE had just listened to me and done the scan. We could have caught it early. Now they say any treatment may shorten his life. GOD... I'm so lost. My husband is the best man I know. Yes, I'm still having esophageal spasms and GERD issues. I pray everyday for strength. I need to be here for my husband. He is a shell of his former self. So sad. My heart is shattered. I'm thankful I have my faith and Jesus by me. This isn't about me though, it is about him. I put my pride on the floor when I put up the fundraiser. I hated doing it but sometimes you just have to. Thank you for all of your prayers and well wishes. I love all of you. If you look at the pictures on the fundraiser page.. you can see he has aged 20 years. I don't know what I will do without him.

  22. Hello Fellow Vets! I was just wondering what everyone's plans are for getting back on track after the Christimas Season? I haven't really done terrible but I did gain 3 pounds in the past two months. It really scares me. I don't really feel I eat more just made some bad choices. But with the weight gain, I HAVE to be eating more. Seems that old "sugar" habit is sneaking back in my life. I've decided to set a new goal for myself and be at goal by my 2 year surgeversay in May. I really want to have a BMI of less than 25 and be at my healthy goal of 145 to 150 by then. I'm excited about getting back on track and having some normalcy in my life after the holidays. I've also had a lot of stress in my life lately and am still dealing with the GERD issues and esophageal spasms. I've decided to try and live with it even though I'm on meds and probably will be forever. I still can't sleep on my sides and have to sleep propped up on my back or else I will get a spasm and they hurt like CRAZY!! Bypass isn't an option as long as I can function without doing more surgery. I can keep down food obviously so I pray that things stay stablized. Well, would love to hear how you guys are doing and what ideas y'all have for the new year! OH NSV.. Even though I gained three pounds, I was able to buy a size 10 jeans yesterday and they fit comfortably. I don't think I will be able to wear a size 10 in everything but I was happy happy happy to buy these! Decided to post these before and afters. I am still so grateful to have made it this far! Would love to see before and afters of my fellow vets! It really does help to see how far we ALL have come. GOD BLESS!
  23. That is so great! Are you able to tolerate fat? If so, you might try adding 100 extra calories a day for a while so you can gain some weight back. Peanut Butter or avocado would do it. It will probably help your hair and skin too and help your energy levels. Yes I am...and I'm eating lots of avocado! Can't get enough of it!!! I'm not even counting calories at this point, just trying to get the calories in! But thanks for the suggestion! Hey Nicki, How are you doing? I hope you are still doing well. Thinking of you and thought I would check up on you!
  24. Aww thank you so much!! Actually my hair is very thin. I've lost half my volumn. I was blessed to have very thick hair. I do take 10,000 mcg of Biotin everyday and have started taking prenatal vitamins! hahaha.. funny someone my age taking prenatal Vitamins. I have to say that they really help my hair and nails. I'm still struggling to lose weight. I wish it wasn't so hard this far out!! Happy to be in a 10 though! Have a great day and God bless!!
