  1. Hello everyone! I am 9 months out and usually try to post before and afters every month just so I can see how I'm progressing. I have to say this is the best thing I've ever done for me! I'm so blessed to not have had complications as some have and I thank the Lord everyday for this blessing.

9 Months Post Op and 105 pounds

Yeah.. it has gotten harder for sure. I still can't eat bread though. I can eat crackers but hardly ever do. I have found that eating sweets still is a struggle for me. How much have you lost in 9 months?

9 Months Post Op and 105 pounds

Thanks again everyone. Actually, I had very thick hair when I had surgery, but have lost a lot of if at this point. It looks thicker than it is but thank you so much for the nice compliments. I'm flattered!!

9 Months Post Op and 105 pounds

Thank you everyone! My weight loss is slowing down so I need all the inspiration I can get. Sometimes I feel as if I will stop losing and start to gain. That is my worse fear. I know I've lost a lot but we all want to make it to goal. I realize it has only been 9 months and I still have until May for my 1 year and I hope I can start to lose again. I know I won't be at goal but anything is ok with me.

9 Months Post Op and 105 pounds

Aww thank you! I've had other friends tell me that but I don't really see it but it is definitely a compliment! Thank you so much.

    I got a leak..

So sorry to hear about your problem! I know this has to be so hard for you and scary. From what I've read with leak complications, you aren't suppose to have any thing by mouth if you have a leak until it heals. They actually told you your stomach had a small hole? I would definitely call my surgeon back and make sure that it is ok for you to consume anything by mouth. If you have any fever, please call your Dr. back. I don't want to scare you but for sure you wouldn't want your infection to get worse. I hope everything turns out ok for you. Stay strong and know it will get better.

    Post-Sleevers, please help

You will do great Jason. I have to say though this surgery isn't easy but it is ALL worth it. You will be able to eat those things again, just not for awhile and will eat smaller portions and be satisfied. I am so glad I did this for myself and family. You will miss food but you will get use to your new way of eating and new life. As for going out and drinking with your friends, that will change also. You will be able to drink but only 1/10 of what you were consuming because with the sleeve you can't drink as much and will feel the affect a lot sooner and with a lot less! I have to say this was the best thing I could have ever done in my life. Your wife and children will be so happy and most of all YOU will be happy!! Hang in there. It is scary but what you are feeling is all normal! GOOD luck and GOD bless!!
  9. Thanks Susie for sharing your diet. It has been so helpful. Yes, I should be grateful and I am. I still have a ways to go to goal and my weight loss is slowing down a lot. I've only lost 2 pounds this month. I do get my protein in don't eat hardly any carbs but I do drink coffee everyday. Only 1 cup and sometimes less. I exercise only three times a week. I should do more. I'm having some health issues right now with my back so I hope to get that taken care of very soon. Again congratulations on your amazing progress!
  10. Oh my! Congratulations. This is crazy weight loss in such a short amount of time! I was sleeved in May and am only down 101 pounds!! My goal is 150-154 and I still have 39 to go. I hope I can be as close to goal by 12 months but I don't think I will lose the last bit of weight that fast. Care to elaborate on your diet?

    100 Pounds!

Wow.. congratulations!! That is a lot of weight in 6 months. I just hit my 100 pound mark at 8 months and 1 week out and haven't lost since. I seem to always stall after every few pounds. I'm thankful though!
  12. It wasn't easy for me the first week. It actually took me a few months to really feel better. I say you are healthy and had a great surgeon. Enjoy your easy recovery.
  13. I felt that way when I got home from the hospital because I was in so much pain. My recovery took longer than I thought it would. Having several surgeries before, I thought I would bounce right back but not being able to get the nutrition I needed in the beginning was really hard for me. I made sure I drank G2 gatorade in my Water so I woudn't get dehydrated and each day it got easier. Now I'm 8 months out and am so very happy I did this for me! I've lost 100 pounds to date and have 39 to goal. It does get easier. When you are a few months out and can really eat anything you want only small portions, you will see how much of a blessing this surgery is. We learn to eat as a "thin" person does. Of course, eating healthy is very important. I still crave Protein shakes every day. Hard to believe, I know! LOL I drink Myoplex Lite every day. Good luck to you and you will definitely not regret this later when things get back to some normalcy.

I barely got through day one...pre-op

I remember going through this!! Ugghhhh.. I thought I would die! lol.. I did lose 15 pounds during the two week pre op diet. It was hard and I did cheat a couple of times. IT is WORTH it.!! Just hang in there. I wish I could tell you it gets easier but it doesn't.
  15. Thanks again everyone! I appreciate all the wonderful comments. You guys rock!!!
  16. As of this morning, I finally made it to the 100 pound club! I am so happy and so grateful for my sleevie! I know there is NO WAY I would be able to lose 100 pounds in 8 1/2 months. I have 39 pounds to goal!! Whoop Whoop!! Before and After attached.
  17. Curious how many calories post sleevers are eating 8 months plus post op to continue to lose? I started using myfitnesspal.com and set it for 1000 calories. I'm still not losing!!! I'm wondering if that is enough? Not enough? Can you post- sleevers weigh in!! No pun intended... haha Thank you!
  18. Its ok. I know I will get there. I sit and wonder where I will be at my 1 year Surgeversary! I'm so thankful for this surgery. It hasn't been easy but it has been easier than it was with out it. Now, I have to really work at it because I am getting back to being "normal" so to speak. I really need to up my exercise. I'm only walking. I need to do some strength training as well. I have 40 pounds to goal so I'm pretty happy!!

    Excited! Want medical bracelet now!

I have one! I ordered it online. It's pretty cute. But I would love to have one with diamonds!
  20. Yeah but it really has slowed this month. I've not lost any since I hit 195. I know there are stalls but I sure hope it moves soon! I'm eating around 1000 a day. Sometimes I go over and sometimes under but it averages out. I definitely won't lose 8 this month.
  21. Oh wow! I don't think I could go as low as 600! I think I was taking in 600 a month after surgery. I guess because I still drink Protein drinks. Girl you are rocking that sleeve! I wish I could go that low but I really don't think I can. Congrats on the weight loss!! Incredible!

    Horror Story

I have to apologize for bringing up that this didn't add up because of the "May" surgery issue. I feel so terrible! It is so hard to comprehend what happened to your sister. It is the worst I've ever heard of. I guess it is easy for us who haven't had real complications to think that in no way could it get this bad! I am so sorry. I cannot imagine what your sister has been and is going through. I pray to the Lord that she has some relief and this new procedure will work for her.
