  1. It's required as part of the tests (pelvic and ab ultrasound) Just trying to get an idea of the things I need to have someone watch my little one.
  2. Can you tell me about the pelvic/abdominal ultrasound? She told me it should take an hour.
  3. Waiting to go back? Thanks for the well wishes by the way. They didn't mention anything about an adult being there. I don't drive so that's a good thing. What should I expect after? Drowsiness?

    Anyone Have Dyspepsia? Frequent Heartburn?

Oh man I'm sorry you guys have heartburn. Is it that bad where you regret the surgery or type of surgery?

    Anyone Have Dyspepsia? Frequent Heartburn?

What are the causes of the heartburn? I never had issues with heartburn that would cause me to need medication and I really wouldn't want to be going through that daily. Heartburn sucks. I also would not want to switch to the bypass making it a duodenal switch. I mean you'll lose more weight and keep more off but I don't want that. :/

Anyone Blogging Their Journey On Youtube?

I subscribed to you. I am currently watching your vids.
  7. Most of my appointments I have to make on my own, which I did. Some I have to talk with my PCP. So regarding the psychiatrist am I suppose to tell them it's for a weight loss evaluation? I just scheduled an appointment. How long should I expect this appointment to be?How many times did you see the psychiatrist? I don't think I will be able to get a sitter that day. If it's long I will have to try and persuade a family member.
  8. My surgery is at Methodist Hospital. The list of doctors didn't except my insurance so I went to my insurances' website and looked for local psychiatrists.
  9. The paper is upstairs but from what I can recall about two appointments have to be done via my doctor. It was suggested I see the nutritionist, psychiatrist, and the endoscopy done first. I made appts for all of those including pelvic and abdominal exam. The other two I can't recall. I'm seeing a psych downtown Brooklyn. I do have to do a chest xray as well as blood work. I'm going to call my surgeons secretary and ask if I need to get a paper from the psych.
  10. I'm not worried, just the psychiatrist is not affiliated with my hospital so I want to know if I get a print out to give to the doctor or does it get faxed over. I have to do most of my own appointment management and couldnt find a psych that took my insurance in the hospital.

Anyone Blogging Their Journey On Youtube?

    Mine is watchmeloseit2012.
  12. Aww man. That's long. Btw did you have to tell him it's for weight loss surgery in advance? Do you get a piece of paper from them on the spot to give to the doctor, how does that work? Why would they assume you'd be an alcoholic?
  13. I want to ask this question to my doctor. Is there an easier way to break down this question? From how I picture it. What keeps the staples from scraping anything neighboring? Hmmm.. I like technical questions. Thanks for bringing this up.
  14. When do they start counting your days/months? I went yesterday, had a consult with the surgeon, was told what to do etc. The assistant told me my surgery would be in July. Yesterday was the 31st. Wouldn't my surgery be in August? How exact are they. I should have asked her at the time, but I forgot. My first appt with my doctor is on the 9th. Then she will start entering weight etc. Also.. Anyone got their date earlier? I guess I don't think it would be possible since it's required for insurance that each month there needs to be a weigh in, but I have seen some people get earlier dates, but didn't ask them how.
  15. Yea, I'm one of those people that feel if I tell something that I really want, and people might be against it, they might jinx it, so I am more incline to tell afterwards, after I am in the clear of the surgery. I told one friend and she told me she doesnt want to hang around me if I'm skinny. I feel she was trying her best for me to not get it.
  16. Out of curiousity, do you think I can make future appointments for each month? I will probably call the doctor clinic office later. Were you able to?
  17. Do the staples dissolve? If they are metal I would assume not.
  18. I told people in my weight loss group I created. I have a youtube channel dedicated to weight loss, and my main facebook I haven't told anyone. I rarely go on. I do intend on posting photos of myself afterwards. I go on every month to two months. It varies. If someone asks on my facebook I'd tell them.

What Is Everyone Looking Forward To?

I'm looking forward to more energy, straight size clothing particularly victoria secret PINK t shirts, and a Burberry jacket. I am more clothing concerned. I do look forward to more energy. My energy levels are pretty good once I had a nights sleep not interrupted by the baby, but I can only imagine what I would feel like at 150. I might feel like Sonic the Hedgehog.

    Cheap Protein Shakes

Are slimfast shakes okay? I have the 3 2 1 powder. Once you add the milk its 20 g of protein. I usually add an extra cup of water because it's pretty sweet. Making it nine ounces.
  21. Im so glad the day is here. So I definitely know I want to do the sleeve as oppose to other surgeries, now what questions should I ask that I might not find here? What questions are a must to ask the surgeon?
  22. What are the right answers to these questions? Is there a link or list of must have questions? Im assuming the doctor will volunteer information, I just want to ask questions that I'd probably only remember to ask when I leave and reach home.
  23. I'm just starting the process. At my hospital you see the surgeon first. Tomorrow is the first of everything.
