  1. It's funny how you are perfectly healthy or appear perfectly healthy when your fat and eating badly and then as soon as you change you life for the better medical issues start arising. Now not only going to the Endocrinologist but also now have to see the Cardiologist for possible damage to my heart caused by my thyroid disease. Hoping for everything to come together soon.

  2. Ok, so the nurse was wrong about my thyroid. It is still overactive and has actually gotten worse. The growth on my thyroid is lots bigger and I need surgery on my thyroid along with needing to see a cardiologist now because my heart is functioning abnormally due to my thyroid. I really hope every thing is ok or turns out ok. It just stinks that as soon as I make the conscious effort to become healthy and to lose weight. My body starts developing problems.

  3. Just got a call from my doctor and the test results of my blood work aren't good. I went from a hyperactive thyroid to one that pretty much killed itself off. How does this happen without treatment to do so? I am so stressed, this would be a good explanation why I have been gaining weight in the past few months. :(

  4. 72lbs down without the help of WLS, I feel guilty for being a part of this site and not having the surgery. However at the sametime I am thankful that I proved to myself I can do this on my own. I officially have 58lbs left to lose and I am confident I can do this!

  5. Thyroid surgery has been put off once again, they have increased my medicine and now I don't go back until January. I have officially lost 60 pounds, whoo hoo!!! Thinking about going back to the doctor to see if they will still do the surgery, I will still have to do the classes and under go the Psyc. eval. but at this rate I think I will be waiting until mid next year before I can get my thyroid taken care of! "What to do?"

  6. Ok, thyroid surgery has been put off longer! My thyroid levels have not dropped enough for me to get the surgery! Who knew my body was as stubborn as I am...lol... Shoot by now I could have had the surgery, but no worries everything will work out in the end!

  7. So, thyroid surgery in October! I have been on medicine that is supposed to slow my thyroid enough so that I can have the goiter removed but it is supposed to make me gain weight in return! So far I have managed to bust my ass enough to still lose the weight but it has been only 2lbs a month! Spoke with my boss and she said that I can not take more time off until june of next year! I am starting to think that by that time, I will have lost so much weight they will not do the s...

  8. I haven't let this set back stop me! I am still going through with all my appointments and hopefully my boss will work with me and allow the surgery before june!

  9. Just got very upsetting news, come to find out I have to have my thyroid removed! The doctor wants to do it asap however the time I had saved at work was dedicated for my lap bad surgery. If I get the thyroid surgery I am not going to be able to get my bariatric surgery until next June! I am so depressed right now!

  10. Met with the doctor yesterday and everything went amazingly! She was super sweet and she told me that since I have already lost so much weight she only wants me to lose another 10 pounds before the surgery, as long as all appointments fall into place I should be getting my surgery at the end of September! So excited!

  11. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow!!! I will be one step closer to my surgery date! Meeting with the doctor for the first time, I have been on a doctor monitiored diet and excercise program for 4 months, have the rest of my appointments in August! Crossing my fingers for late September!

  12. 3 days before my first visit! So excited!

  13. First doctor's appointment in 2 weeks! Still need to meet with the psyc. and nutritionist. Looks like October might be the big month!

  14. Down 35 pounds in 3 months, only 3 more months to go before I can get the surgery! Hopefully I will be 60 pounds down and only have 60 pounds to lose! Getting very excited!!!

  15. Two months and 20 pounds down, only 4 more months before I qualify for the surgery! So excited, the doctor says if I can lose most of the weight on my own the last 50 or 60 pounds will come off pretty fast with the lapband. Can't wait!
