I think I am going to say I started with a liquid diet including some high Protein drinks to get the ball rolling. Then I started to change my lifestyle by eating Protein first (at least 70grams a day), then veggies, then carbs and by eating smaller portions. Cutting out sugar and carbs as much as possible and by increasing my Water intake to at least 64 ounces a day. Lets not forget working out and walking 30 minutes a day. A total lifestyle change.
Thats not lying but not telling them everything.

I had no co-morbities. I believe I was approved within 5 days (including the weekend). I honestly think that the insurance person for my Doc is extremely good at her job, and made sure every piece of info that was needed was included. I called the day after submission and got the auth number, I then continued to call back everyday until I received a response.
To be completely honest I work for them, not in utilization review, but I know what it's like trying to do my job and having to pend my work until the provider submits additional info. Try not to get too frustrated, but when you call ask if they have all documentation needed, or are they waiting on something. Almost bet that if it's taking a really long time they (Cigna) are waiting for some more info.

Good response. Also depends upon how surgeon does VSG. I was an outpatient for VSG with no tubes, drains, overnight stay. So, I was working on my computer within a few days and back traveling within a week. Too early really.
Ask your surgeon how long most patients of his/hers take off after VSG. Congrats on an upcoming surgery.

It does depend on what you do. I have my sleeve done on 02/28 and I am going back to work tommrrow 03/08 so I had a little over a week off. I wish I would have taken a full two off because I am feeling some fatigue but no pain.
