  1. Made a mistake I was banded in 2012 not 2013
  2. Same here. Banded in march 2013. Lost 70 in the first year and by now gained 50 back. After first year just stopped following the rules. Now going to try to get back into the groove. Used to be in Essex now in Passaic.
  3. It could be a combination of blood pressure drop and dehydration, drink more water.
  4. My doc said no alcohol at all! I didn't really drink before surgery but now since getting banded 3/28/12 i haven't had a sip.
  5. I had same dizziness, and still sometimes get it, when I get up, but only when I don't drink enough. It is dehydration as Gigi_Girl said. Just make sure you drink enough.
  6. Syntrax Nectar, a lot of different flavors, my favorites are capuchino and strawberry mouse. Amazone is the cheapest place to buy it. Good luck.
  7. Hi all, I had 4 fills so far. You might not feel anything until your 3rd or 4th fill, for me I don't feel anything different until you eat fast or larger bites and if you don't chew good enough. Also with every fill I find that I get full with less food. Just be careful and follow the rules.
  8. Unfortunately I don't think I'm riding anything this season. My wife is a bit agains it. Buy a house first then motorcycle. Such as life...
  9. @Prodigy805 Here is the set I bought on Amazon: Mastrad A64601 Top chips Maker and Slicer Set
  10. I tried a few brands and settled on Syntrax Nectar, they come in a lot of different flavors, my favorite is capuchino. I usually have 4 flavors in rotation to keep it from getting boring. I also use almond unsweetened milk instead of regular milk. The trick I learned is to mix the protein and let it stand in a fridge for a bit then shake again and drink. I don't use a blender just one of those mixing cups, but most of the time just put milk and powder in empty spring water bottles and shake. Good luck, most of it all will be trial and error.
  11. I snack on dry roasted almonds, make apple chips or even potato chips in the microwave without frying. I got this chip maker from amazon.
  12. I got Moon Pops for my daughters 11 and 2.5 years old they really liked it, but it didn't sit well with them, both had runs for a few days after eating this stuff. So be careful.
  13. My doc, does it every 6 weeks.
  14. Banded 3/29/12, lost 40lbs since and 20lbs on pre-op, sticking to the plan as far as food, mind hunger sometimes gets tough, haven't exercised as I should. No regrets!
  15. Before you buy make sure it is whey isolate protein and not something else, that is what my nutritionist told me, I have tried the shots but not those you found and what I found out after I bought it and read all the fine print of the contents it was three different proteins to make up that big number and one of them was collagen protein(if I remember correctly) that is the one we don't need or shouldn't have. Also taste was pretty bad. Just try different powders, I think I tried maybe 5 different brands and when you mix it up let it sit in the fridge for a bit. I found that it makes it a little better. Just my $0.02
  16. Saw a thread here couple of month ago about this, the word is treat it like a slider and its only about 7 calories per serving. lol Sorry if I'm stepping into something I shouldn't.
  17. I was banded 3/29/12. Lost 20lbs before and 39lbs after, but now the last 2 weeks the scale hasn't moved, it is very frustrating, I had one fill on 5/10, got 5cc's and feel the restriction a little but not much, going for a second fill 6/23 and hoping that will help, what I was told by other bandsters is to change things up with the diet and try to do a day of liquids once in a while. Haven't tried that yet but considering.
  18. My doctor does fills every 6 weeks. I was banded on 3/28/12, today got my first fill 5cc's. Hopefully will get restriction now.
  19. Hi all, Got the motorcycle bug, taking the class on 7/6/12, now trying to figure out what bike I should look into, spoke with a few friends who ride and some say get 250cc, some say 500cc and others say go for 750cc. I know it is a loaded question, but would like some more opinions on this. Thank you, Alex
  20. As far as I found online there are different brands, the one I bought is IDS, I don't know about others.
  21. I tried IDS brand 42g of protein, tasted ok very sweet, but sugar free. My nutritionist suggested I don't use them because of the proteins that make up the 42g, it has whey isolate and collagen protein( i think that is the right spelling). She told me collagen protein is not very good for us. So I used up the 12 pack that I had and didn't buy more.
  22. I started sleeping on my stomach 3 days after surgery, never heard of that you can't, but all of us are different and maybe some will feel discomfort while others won't. Good luck.
  23. I'm feeling great, but hungry, can't wait to get a fill in few weeks. Started yesterday c25k and feeling good, besides the port tugging sometimes, called Dr.'s office and nurse Toni if you remember her said its normal so I will have to deal with it. So far I'm happy with my decision, lost over 30lbs(see ticker) and few pant sizes already.
  24. I was banded by Dr. Strom at Mountainside hospital on 3/28/12.
  25. I use liquid multi by Natures Way called Alive. Taste is not the best but I swear by these, since I started taking this multi even before surgery I felt the increase in energy. Also I take a calcium gummy, don't remember the brand.
