Nsv That I Can Really See

congrats I cannot wait to be able to do this. Keep up the good work
  2. I have not had my surgery as of yet but I did go through Chemo when I was 15 and had a centeral line which is kinda like a drain. It didn't hurt when it came out but it feels really weird because you can feel it coming out. Just take a few deep breaths and it will be over in a min. Hang in there

    Hubby Doesnt Understand

I am in the same boat as you are. My hubby, and all of his family feel that it will be a dealth sentence if I have this surgery. His mom has been a nurse for 35 years and she is being very negitive about this. I wanted him to be very supportive but I have come to the concluion that he is not going to be. He went as far as telling me that he NEVER wants to talk about it again. That I am going to do what I want and he doesn't want to know about it. So I have left it at that. My parents are very supportive to the point that my MOM is looking to have the surgery at the same time as I do so we will go through it together. My daughter always tells me that i am not FAT and that I am the most beatiful mom in the world but she is supportive to the surgery as well as long as it makes me happy.

    Insulin Pumpers having VSG?

this forum is great. I am a insulin dependant type 1 with a insulin pump and I am considering the sleeve surgery. I have dont a lot of research but could not find a lot of information on pumpers and the surgery. I LOVE THIS SITE it helps with so many questions. My big concern was low blood sugars. I am terrified that I am going to go low and not be able to eat anything to get the blood sugars back up. I am glad that there is a soultion for me. Like most of the pumpers I have learned how to just adjust my pump to the food that I eat. I can eat anything I want and just give myself more insulin to counter it. Well it has effected me in the weight catigory big time. I have gained 100 pounds in the 5 years that I have had my pump. I really dont want to go back to injection because I was horlible about taking them I would fotget or just decided that I didnt want to do it and THAT IS REALLY BAD !!!! so I want to keep my pump and just reduce the amount that I take. Is anyone thinking about doing the surgery in Mexico. It is so much cheaper and I dont have insurance that will cover this so I have to pay myself. Thank you so very much for this information

Type One Insulin Depend Wanting The Sleeve

thank you so much my mom is worried about that as well. I am on a insulin pump now so I know that things will really have to be adjusted maybe someday I will get back down to where I only have to take one shot a day instead of having to wear a pump 24/7. I am going to talk to my dr on April 5 so I will deffently ask her about that. Did you have a sleeve surgery done. What was your experence.

I am still a few months out from surgery but I wanted to try and do the pre op diet to make sure that I truly can do this. I am going to try these shakes and see if I can be strong enough to do this. I wish you luch.

The Start Of My New Life - Here It Goes

Today is March 15, 2012 and I have decided that I am going to have the Gastric Sleeve surgery. I am 34 years old and have been over weight my whole life. I weighed 287 pound in the 7th grade. At the age of 14 I had my gallbladder removed and lost about 40 pounds but as I got better I gained all of that weight back and an additional 30 pounds. At the age of 15 I was diagnosed with Non Hodginkins Lymphoma (Cancer) at this time I weight 298 pounds at the age of 15. I went through Chemo therapy for 1 year and a half at the end of my treatments I was down to 160 pounds. It was the smallest that I had ever been in my life. Due to the Chemo I became and insulin dependant diabetic. I stayed small for about 10 years; I had a baby and still only weighted 180 pounds. It was great I could ware a size 9 in pants I looked good. I meat my husband in 2001 and when we started dating I was at about 180 pounds. I looked and felt healthy. As the years went by I had to start on a insulin pump. For those that don’t know what that is, it’s a devise that give a continuous feed of insulin 24 hours a day. You only have to inject yourself every three days. It is great. I can travel very easily now and I love it. The only down fall to this beautiful device is that it makes you GAIN WEIGHT a lot of WEIGHT. I got my pump in 2005 and since then I have gained 125 pounds to what is my current weight now of 328 pounds. Both of my sisters have done the gastric bypass surgery and they are doing great. I don’t have an insurance that will cover this kind of surgery so I have been exploring different options for weight loss. I am a great dieter NOT I hate to diet. I have no will power and I am a very picky eater, but I have tried several different things to loose weight just to name a few Weight Watcher, Jenny Craig, Liquid only diets, Pill all kinds of them that they would help me and NOTHING, Nothing as all, Maybe 5 to 10 pounds here and there but nothing that I would call well. So I have decided to go with the Gastric Sleeve and I will be having my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Mario Almanza. I have read nothing but nice things about him and his staff and it is really affordable so HERE IS TO MY NEW LIFE

    Newbie.... Oh Were To Start?

Thank you for all of the nice welcomes. I dont have medical insurance so I will be going to Mexico to have this done. I am thinking about sometime in Feburary so this way I can save up the money. I have done a ton of research and I am really looking forward to this surgery. There a couple of things that I am really nervious about FAILING, FAILING and FAILING. I have never stuck with a diet in my life. I get fed up becasue I dont see any results so now I am scard that it is not going to work for me either. The other thing i am scard of is loosing my hair. I went through Chemo when I was 15 and lost all of my hair I dont want that to happen again. I know that there is going to be ALOT of emotional issues that will be happening. Does anyone have any advicse on how to get through the emotional apart.

    Newbie.... Oh Were To Start?

Hi so i have been researching the gastric sleeve for a while now and i have decided to go throught with it but the dr that i amgoing to is in mexico. I have done a lot of research on this dr and hospital in tj mexico, the cost is in the price range that i can afford but everyone is telling me now to do the surgery because it would be signing my death wish due to the long term effects, can anyone give me some feed back if you had your surgery in mexico and if so have you had any affects that have been really bad. I am insulin dependant diabetic that take alomost 130 units of insulin a day, the way that i look at it is if I can reduce the amount of insulin i take it will help with the other organs that are having issues due to all of the medicaine that i take.
