I guess it's a good thing to be an addict of!
  3. The preop diet isn't always easy. Remember, it is temporary though. You can do it! Hang in there and congrats on your upcoming surgery.

    Second Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet

A lot of people, myself included, like the Premier ready to drink shakes you can get at Costco or Sams. You might also go to GNC and talk to them about what's popular. Good luck to you!

    Ins. Pay For A Nutrionist?

I think they typically cover it. I'd give your insurance company a call just to be sure.

    Day One Down

Congrats on making it through day 1. Day 2 for me was the worst. By day 4 or 5 (can't remember for sure) all was well. I had tons of energy and felt great by then.

So Shaving Your Legs And Being Obese

I hate doing it and did find it hard. Kinda like tying my shoes. Now that I've lost 47 pounds, both are so much easier. I still hate shaving though and do it as little as possible.

    Pre Pre-Op Diet

Oh, and yes I did that same "diet" too prior to my preop. I did it right up to the very time I had to start my preop diet.

    Pre Pre-Op Diet

Definitely not! A post with this same subject/concern comes up quite regularly. I think it is totally normal to want to eat everything you love before surgery. You may still be able to have most of the foods you love at some point postop. However, you won't be able to ever have them in the same quantity. There is some grieving of that postop, at least for me anyway. Good luck to you in your journey!
  16. Welcome to the other side August 6th sleeves! Best of luck to you on your journey!

    Early Stall!

I will be 9 weeks postop tomorrow and have already had 2 stalls. My second one ended over the weekend. The good thing is I've still lost 47 pounds.
  18. Thanks for posting this. It is really nice to hear from people a ways postop.

    Cigna Coverage - Borrowing Trouble

I'm sorry this is happening to you. However, you may have a case against them in honoring what they sent you in writing. If they come back on you with something different, I would argue it with them to try and get them to honor what they put in writing. If they say they won't, then file a complaint with the Department of Insurance in your state. You can Google your state's Department of Insurance. Also, make sure you keep the original documents the insurance company sent you and keep records of the date and time of each call and who you spoke to. Good luck to you. I hope it all works out for you!

    Question About Timing

I think you are going to get very different answers since, as your pointed out, people heal at different rates. At 9 days out I was no where ready to sit at a desk for 8 hours much less do something like you have coming up. Not only did I not have the energy at that point, but I'm one of those who struggled with quite a bit of pain. I was on prescription pain meds off and on for 3 weeks. There may be others who think you could do it fine based on their experience. However, based on mine I would say to reschedule. The truth is, you could get 1000 answers here but all those will never determine how you will feel postop. As much as you want this surgery yesterday, I wouldn't risk it. It is better to put it off until you have plenty of recovery time than to be so tired or so in pain you can't do your 12 hours. Good luck to you in your decision and your journey!
