  1. It sure does. I mean I have been in a good place now for a couple of months but it seemed I was always chasing that sweet spot of long lasting 'restriction'. I recall numerous times getting a fill and have it feel great for about a week then it went away. My Doc told me it could be because my stomach is shrinking quickly and the band is not as snug. Stick with it and keep up your follow ups with Doc and you'll get there.

Under my signature there is a great article from Dr Simpson on the topic. It's a great read. I recommend it to everyone.

I feel stupid for asking this but how can I find that article? I would really like to read it. Thank you. :)

  2. I want to start of with an appoligize to all 2012 & 2013 Banders if I may have placed my story in the wrong area. I meant no confusion for anyone. I thought the one that I placed my information on was the acual year 2013.

I only wish all the very best' date=' I also thank you all for the support that this site has allowed me to learn. I dd not mean anydisrespect. I was just excited about my approval.

    again Thank you[/quote']

You don't have to apologize, you ARE a February bandster and that's why your here. I was confused also but don't apologize. Come see February 2013 bandsters and join the thread :) we all support each other. Hugs

  3. I agree' date=' the 2013 February Bandsters need their own section! In fact, on the main page, if you select Forums, right on top is a forum for February 2013 Bandsters. Granted, they can learn from us, but I personally don't want to read about all of their pre-op issues, etc. Been there, done that!

To all 2012 February Bandsters - love reading about how you are doing. We seem to be in various stages of success, but something to remember, our general health is much better for the steps we took last year. Personally, I wish I was further along, but I know my mistakes and thanks to my nurse at my school site, I've got some new enthusiasm to succeed. Plus, I have the most encouraging doctor.[/quote']

February 2013 does have their own section, but it confusing to newbies because your thread just says "February bandsters" and pops up on the pre op section. Perhaps the title if your thread is causing the confusion.

  4. Hi everyone!! I was originally a may 2012 hopeful, then got denied, then was an October hopeful then got denied again :(. I was approved after 2 appeals and went thru 3 of the 4-month nutrition classes. I did it!!! I'm so happy and I am officially scheduled for Feb 21st after 12 months of nutrition visits and doc appts. I wanted to give up several times but pushed thru and didn't give Aetna the satisfaction of winning. So that's my story and I'm happy to have a home in this feb bandsters group. Lets shed those pounds!!!!!

  5. I've been denied twice by Aetna. I did the supervised diet 3 times already! Almost a year trying to get approved. They just do not want to pay even though I meet all the requirements. I've tried so hard to do everything right and they denied me because I did not lose weight. I've tried not to give up hope but I think I am about ready to throw in the towel. Tired of fighting :(

  6. I have Aetna, I gained 5 pounds during the 4 months and they denied me because of that. I've heard from another lady who gained like 13 pounds and was approved. I honestly think it depends on your plan and the person who receives your paperwork. Some insurances are picky and will find any little loop hole to not pay for it and others are great. I don't have the same insurance you do, but just thought I would share what happened to me. Take care -Kelly

  7. Hi, I have Aetna too. They required the 2 years history for me also. I had documentation from my pcp and that was sufficient. What you provided them is probably even better since it shows you were making an attempt to lose weight. I think as long as its documented somewhere. I got denied because I gained a few pounds during my 4 month nutrition visits. I gained 5 pounds in 4 months. So I started the process over again. Hopefully this time will be better. Good luck to you on your life changing journey. :)

    -Kelly

  8. Can't answer your questions' date=' but I had to laugh at your thread name.

My daughter talks like that all the time.

By chance is that a "Simpson's" thing? LOL[/quote']

LOL..... Are you referring to "Hooty Mc Boobity" from the Simpsons? Or "Busty St. Claire"
