2 Days Post Opp And In Pain
Days 2 and 3 were the worst for me. I was worried that the pain I was in was going to last forever. Can we say drama queen? Of course it didn't, but those were tough days. The heating pad was my friend, helped so much. Just remember walk, walk, walk. It really will help. Good Luck!!

Shopping In My Closet
I just started "shopping" in my closet this weekend. Had to give up a couple of pairs of pants that are too big. Tried on all the pants currently in my closet and they all fit. Hopefully soon I'll have to move onto the clothes in the guest room closet. Did you hold onto your clothes for awhile or did you give them away immediately. ?

Anyone Take Pill Form Vitamins Right After Surgery??
i've taken all my meds since surgery. they're all pretty small, the ones I was worried about were the capsules since they are bigger, but dr said those are fine since they dissolve quickly. heck my pain meds were pretty good sized tablets, but the dr told be to break in half and they were fine. when in doubt give your dr, or better yet their nurse a call

When Does The Pain Die Down?
I was just banded on 5/21. for me days 2-3 were the worst. i didn't lay flat because I couldn't get up it hurt so much. it started to get better on day 4, by day 5 i was only taking pain meds to help me sleep. I have a tendancy to roll over in my sleep and that was still painful. I was off all pain meds by day 7. i was still sore for a couple of days, especially if I was sitting in one position too long. Keep waking as much as you can, it will help with the gas and prevent clots. Good luck!

May Bandsters!
Surgery was Monday and just starting to feel normal now. Mainly gas pains and some pain at the port site. Walking as much as much as I can. Getting enough fluid and protein is hard. Had 48oz of fluid and only 19gm protien. How much is everyone else getting in thefirst week?

Getting My Band Next Month....
Congrats on making the decision. I wish I had taken care of my weight when I was your age. I'm now 40 and decided I can't wait anymore, so I'm being banded Monday. This board has been great for information and support. Keep us posted on how things go.

May Bandsters!
Had my nutrition class yesterday. post-op diet isn't as restrictive as I had thought. it's amazing how different doctors have different diets. I'll be on clears for 24 hours, then full liquids as tolerated for a week, then move onto real food, starting with mushies. Three meals a day of 2 ounces each. supplemented by protein shakes. water, broth throughout the day. Goal is to get to 75g protein each day. and 64oz of liquids. surgery is monday and I'm getting so nervous. glad to hear people are doing well with surgeries, hopefully i'll come back with a good report as well.

May Bandsters!
Less than a week to go, 5/21, and getting really nervous. Thinking about everything I wanted to get done before surgery, will just have to let some of that go. Husband is worrying about the surgery as well. I'm sure things will go fine, just hate the anticipation.

First Step....seminar Today =)
Hi and welcome. I'm still a relative newbie as well. I starting with a seminar in March and have my surgery scheduled for the 21st. I have learned so much from these boards. My Dr. required a seminar as well, so pretty usual. Have you checked with your insurance yet? If not do so ASAP to see if they have any requirements or exclusions. Good luck!

May Bandsters!
Hi Everyone, I finally got my date of May 21st. I'm so excited and nervous. I don't think it has really sunk in yet. I don't have to do a pre-op diet, except for liquids the day before. I think I am going to start something on my own though, maybe a shake for breakfast, just to get me in the habit and so it's not such a shock after surgery.

May 21St!
