  1. from my surgeon's office with a date...but the phone went right to voicemail instead of ringing so I didn't get to talk to her. I called her back and I got her voicemail. now I have to wait till she calls me back and hope the phone actually rings this time. I'm not going to get anything done until I hear back from her.
  2. Mine was a bunch of testing...blood,chest x-ray,ekg,upper gi,breathing test, and meeting with the nurse. It took about 3 hours, but it was nice to have everything done at once. Good luck!
  3. Way to go! Congrats on lowreing your meds! I know for me it wont be as much about weight loss as it is decreasing the number of Meds I have to take. Keep up the great work!
  4. I'm here too, but I'm not banded yet. I had my last pre-surgery appointment yesterday. now just waiting on a date. I am going to St. Vincent's in Carmel. I would recommend the lap band support group, it meets the first Wed of each month. I went last month and it was great. It's open to anyone that's had lap band surgery or are thinking about it. Dizzy Lizzy, not sure how much they cost since I'm going through my insurance. I hope you find someone soon.
  5. good luck! I've found so much useful information on this site, so look around and soak up all the great information.
  6. so happy for you. Good luck with surgery!
  7. Thanks for all the replies. Glad to hear its not just me. Ill pick up the scripts tomorrow and ill ask what the level actually was.
  8. I just got a note from Mr Dr office saying my Vitamin d levels are low, along with a coupe of scripts for different types of Vitamin D, d2 and d3. Anyone else have this? I have an appointment tomorrow, but thought someone on here mightknow something about it... cause...symptoms...etc Thanks
  9. good luck! come back and let us know how you are doing when you are able.
  10. good luck! Sending lots of good vibes your way. Come back and let us know how you are doing.
  11. 42 pounds without restriction is amazing! I can only hope I do as well. Keep of the great work!
  12. Welcome! I've found so much great information on this site. Hopefully your support group will be helpful as well. I went to my first one earlier this month and it was great. I can't wait to go back in May. (and I really can't wait to be banded!)
  13. good luck let us know how you are after.
  14. It just depends on how far out your surgeon is scheduling. One dr in the practice is already scheduling June. Hopefully you will get a close date. to make the ticker for here: www.tickerfactory.com
  15. Good luck! Come back and let Uss know how it went.
  16. Congrats on making the descision to change your life. I'm at about the same point as you. I have one more appointment this Thursday and then I'll get my surgery date. I'm hoping to be banded in may. Good luck on you journey! Check out my blog, link is in my signature.
  17. mine will be less restrictive than yours. I only have to do liquid diet the day before surgery. I'm 100% confident in my doctor...he's done thousands of bands. Each dr is different. As long as you are comfortable with your dr you'll be fine. Funny thing is he seems more restrictive than others in the post op diet. Longer on liquids and mushies than other's I've seen.
  18. Also check with your insurance to see what they will cover, and if they have any requirements for approval...supervised diet. That way you'll have everything done when the time comes. Congrats and taking the first step!
  19. not sure what they meant by that. I've been told that bandsters on average lose 50 to 60% of their excess weight in the first year.
  20. congrats on getting your date. I'm still waiting, Hopefully I'll be joining you in May.
  21. good thoughts heading your way, let us know how you are doing after.
  22. I haven't had surgery yet, but I know my surgeon only requires a liquid diet the day before the surgery. nothing else. It's amazing how different drs have different requirements
  23. WOW!!! Six months and 100+ pounds lost is amazing! I'm just starting the process, hopefully to be banded in May, and can only hope I do half as well as you have done.
  24. It was only 3 days for me. I was originally told it would take up to 2 weeks. They submitted on Monday and I was approved by Wednesday afternoon. Good luck, I I hope you get approval quickly.
