  1. I know everyone loses at a different pace but I'm still curious to know how fast or slow everyone is losing.... I'm 3 months post op and only down 23 lbs most of which I lost on my pre op diet.... Since my third fill two days ago I've FINALLY felt some restriction!

Appreciate the feed back and thanks for sharing!!

  2. Saw someone I haven't seen pre surgery and their reaction was "wow youve lost a lot of weight!" I've only lost 23 lbs thus far but damn it felt good to get recognition! I LOVE my band! I wouldn't be able to do this w out it!!!!!! What are some of yalls nsv's?!

  3. Had my 3rd full yesterday... I was super excited bc I needed the restriction.... The nurse stabbed me twice trying to find my port... It was so effen painful! I left in so much pain and a day later I'm still in pain! My mom told me my stomach looks bloated! It almost feels like around my port is pooching out : / is this normal?! I'm scared to call my dr and they will take my fill out, I need the restriction !

  4. Lmao! I had my last meal at olive garden too!!!!! I've since then gone back post op and let me tell you, I will NEVER eat the tour of Italy again! So NOT worth the carbs! I eat salad and calamari and sometimes stuffed mushrooms : ) I used to be able to have an appetizer, tour of Italy, and desert! I don't know how the hell I ate all of that!

I lost 15 lbs on my liquid diet. And I will admit, I cheated a couple times : ( but 15 lbs in 2 weeks is pretty awesome! Lol mostly all Water weight I'm sure....

  5. I had my surgery Dec 9' date=' 2011. I have had 2 fills with the most recent one March 15. It seems since then I haven't seen the scales move much at all! Feeling a little frustrated and scared this thing is going to stop working. My starting weight was 327 and now I'm 271and I'm also down from a size 26 to a 20. I see results but after losing weight and then not seeing the scale move for a few days is so frustrating to me. Has this happened to anyone else?[/quote']

We were banded the same day! Trust me I'm really struggling too! I've only lost about 20 lbs : / I had my third full yesterday and I think I feel a pinch? Not too sure yet .....

  6. I want to stop hiding behind my child and husband when we take pictures. I only show my face NEVER my full body!

Stop wearing sweaters bc it hides my fat arms and back fat!

I wana walk into a clothing store and buy what I like on the hanger not settle for what fits!

These are all things I thought were "normal" .... They aren't normal. And I want to change them. Best of luck to you guys!

  7. For the first 4 mths after my surgery' date=' I could eat just as much as I had before. I could eat a large Quiznos sandwich, a bowl of broccoli cheese Soup and still have room left for dessert. I didn't watch what I ate at all. I didn't lose but maybe 5 lbs during the first 4 mths. But I didn't gain either. After my 3rd fill, the band started magically working. Over 2 yrs later, and a couple of extra fills, I'm about 10 lbs from my goal of 135. Now I can eat maybe 5 bites of a sandwich, a cup of broccoli cheese soup, and have no room for anything else! I still eat bread, rice, Pasta, and everything else - just VERY small amts. It's amazing I can survive on the amts of food I eat. But I can and my size 7 jeans show it!

So yes, it's very normal to be able to eat lotso pizza until you get proper restriction. When you finally do - be careful. If you attempt to eat like you did, you'll regret it!

    Good luck!

Marci, thanks for this post! Thought I was the only one not losing or gaining the first 3 and half months post op! My 3rd fill is tomorrow and after reading this I'm excited ! I hope I finally get some restriction!

  8. I too went to dr Hollis at true results! I love him and his staff is great! I am fortunate enough to have had the surgery covered by my ins fills included. I do wish they would give fills more often instead of having to wait 5 to 6 weeks for availability : / but other than that I really like their facility and staff!

  9. I'm 3 months post op w the lap band and it is NOT easy! It's basically 70% mental work and the rest your band! If you're looking for easy fix then don't choose lap band.... If this doesn't work for me I'll be considering the sleeve.... I honestly thought it would be a little easier than this : / we shall see after I hit my "sweet spot"
