  1. Hello everybody Well, I used to suffer in order to lose weight and two months ago I took a decision to undertake the gastric plication surgery. I choose this surgery in particular for you're left with no artificial bodies inside your stomach post-operation. It's just an operation that purposes to reduce the size of your stomach, which consequently helps you with the intake of food or the amount you're going to eat and digest. I read a lot about the surgery before taking my decision and of course talked with many doctors. Now Im 2 months POST operation. Have to say that the first month was going very well despite the fact that i mainly depended on liquids; there was no "solid" food at all. I lost about 12 kilograms, and then the losing-weight-rate started slowing down a lot. To be honest, my intake of food differed greatly afterwards in the sense that i added solid food and started adding some of the food i like, BUT of course with very small portions in comparison to the portions pre-operation. However the 2nd month i lost only 4.5 kilos, which i find VERY low in comparison to the first month. I asked my dr, he told me that there is a "pause" period or what they also call it "plateau," but im having concerns, what if the operation failed? I feel more hungry now that i used to feel during the first month post operation. I can take larger portions too. Is this a bad sign? so is having the losing weight rate slowing down a sign that it failed OR it's just a period of time? I remember the doctor saying that the stomach will start taking its normal size 3 months AFTER operation, means it is normal that it gets wider ... right? P.S The operation alone is not the solution, but following a DIET afterwards is a MUST! That's what ive come out to conclude, becauase Ive been eating low portions, but some contain junk! I just hope nothing went wrong ... does anyone know what r the signs that show if plication failed?? thanks very much
  2. Hi Sarah, Thanks for sharing your experience. I had a plication surgery 2 months ago. and im concerned a lot because I feel that it might have failed. This might be only a high degree of worry, and nothing failed or so .. so I need to make sure and ask, WHAT proves that things went wrong? how do i know it failed? The first month I lost about 12 kilograms, and then the 2nd month, as I stopped liquids and started eating low portions of dietary food, i lose only 4 or 5 kgs ... the rate of losing weight is becoming much less. I asked the dr. they said that there might be a period of "pausing" and then i will start losing wieght again normally. the other question is, i remember that the dr. said that plication does make the stomach smaller, but within the first 3 months it's going to be extra small, and then it will start taking a different (larger) size, but of course not the same size as pre-operation. So is it normal that i now feel more hungry than before, and that i can take larger portions? I did not gain any weight, but still the rate of losing weight is very slow ... i need some kind of assurance that im on the right track .. thanks a lot
