Welcome! Let us know when you get your date and ill add you to our august sleevers list!! If you have any questions feel free to ask. We're all here to help eachother. Also...if you have facebook search "vsg" there are a TON of people and even some pages such as "sassy sleevers" that are more than willing to help...and of course this forum. Go stalk the pages, ask questions.....its a great way to learn and get opinions. So far, I have found ZERO negativity here I love it!

Sounds pretty, I've been thinking a lot about this. Should I leave a will at home and just make sure someone knows its there? should i make a "good bye video" just incase!?!?! scary stuff! I saw your post about NG tube, and blinders, can you elaborate on this???? I saw someplace else about this but i don't remember anything about it. Is it because our tummy is so small (or will be..) that they can't put an NG tube in ...since we will get full so fast?? Congrats!!! I sure will add you!!!!!! and you bet your ass we'll be cheering you on!!!! CONGRATS!!! You've done great with your weight loss so far, glad you got your date and that your an august sleever! I'll add you!!!

the support i get from this group!!!!! Any questions i have, i post! And like magic, they are answered! So today i decided since i want to be able to include some friends and family on my journey next month, I would make a FB page specifically for my journey (page is in my signature, add me ) And who would have known...theres a vsg page (or a couple) on there already....so i jumped aboard with them. I'm not sure that i even need an in person local support group because your all so amazing!! Just thought i'd put that out there!!

That would be a good question to post in one of the mexico threads , i know its been asked before. honestly , i dont even know what happens if something happens after my surgery ....doc did mention hes got friends in NJ (hes originally from NJ and got recruited to sc) so his friends would take care of me but thats still a couple hours away.

yea i guess your all right! Normally i would be stubborn and say screw it! I'M GOING!!!! but I know you all have my best interest at heart and i know it will be a big risk...and being so far from my doctor I dont think I'll go. BUTTTTT.... i am going to put hershey park on my list of things to do when i lose more weight it'll be a "goal reward!" Thank you all again!! carolina-I'm having surgery with dr. morris washington at conway medical center.

I think I may sit this one out lol. i was hoping i would feel up to it but thats a huge risk. Besides I'll probably be really home sick by then and want to go straight home, not to another hotel ! thanks for your input everyone!

My surgery is august 8th in south carolina. I'm leaving SC after my post op appt on the 16th. (my post op appt and my clearance to go...) well, theres a concert in hershey Pa friday and saturday and my boyfriend was going to get us tickets for both days. we would spend 2 nights over there... which means drive the 10 hours from sc to pa....then saturday home to NJ (2 hours) ..... The driving isn't what im worried about... will i be able to physically sit in the heat and watch the show...I'll be able to have my Water and hopefully my Protein shakes. It's probably going to be about 90-97 degrees ...we would do the show and probably walk around the park (no rides of course being only 1 week out from pre op) ... Do you think i will be able to go ????

i have muscle milk light ( ready to drink choc and vanilla) for my pre op, i tried them and they seem really good. I'm sure after 2 weeks of nothing but them, ill hate them but they taste kind of like slim fast.

Congrats on your sleeve! Can't help ya much since im still pre op. I havent ben through it but from what i've seen with my forum friends getting sleeved, struggling with the fluids is hard and soreness generally lasts a week (again, from what i've heard) ....Hope you feel better soon, it will be well worth it in the end

yes it feels amazing! it would feel more amazing if i was 100% debt free first but i've gotten my shakes for the pre op diet, some post op stuff, some clothes to wear while im down there, paid off the 1200 for the condo, among everything i mentioned. This is amazing to me! and, as im losing weight...i'll have more energy to work. Right now, im completely drained from being this over weight and working 81 hours a week. I hope it gets easier so i can make that $! I figured since i have a good paying job now (that i really can't count on-it could be gone tomorrow)...i would get this done now. I may never have this opportunity. If i can keep that job for another year ill be golden ....i am going to start a "goal" fund though SHOPPPINGGGG SPREEEEE!!!
