    Extreme weightloss

I hate the biggest loser. I feel bad for those people. They go through hell in front of a TV audience. And we don't even see it all. It's unrealistic.

when can I get back to work

All doctors vary. Everyone is different, and no set time is perfect for everyone.... Talk to your doctor.

    Eating like normal

Be patient. You're in bandster hell. It's going to take a bit to find your green zone. Until then, just be mindful. If you do, you'll still loose.

Not loosing weight 5 months out.

You need to get I'm sooner if you can. Vomiting daily and.keeping nothing down is a recipe for complications..... Good luck.

    Linda's Journey

I agree. My high blood pressure really helped me get pushed through where insurance was concerned. Good luck and welcome to the journey!

    Surgery Scars

My stomach is a maze of scars.... Gallbladder surgery, a c section and lapband... I think I had 4 or so from my band. My port scar is the biggest. It's pretty noticeable. I had my first stomach surgery at age 17 though (I'll be 28 in a couple days) so I've had a lot of time to get used to it. Lol. Also got some semi noticeable stretch marks in that maze. I'll never wear a bikini, but I've accepted. Haha

Banded 24th may 2013, anyone else?

My doctor didn't specify an amount I needed to loose before surgery. My liquid diet was strictly to shrink my liver. Any weight I lost during that time was a bonus. 19 pounds is good. That's a lot of weight. Don't get too bent on "is this enough", because then all your progress won't feel like enough. Trust me I've been there. Everyone is different. But you're doing good!

Crushed ice and super cold water is awesome after surgery. Keeps that dry mouth at bay!

Welcome Shelley! Where there's a will, there's a way! You can do it! Congrats on working on getting back on that horse!!!
  16. I'd stay away from gummy foods (breads, tortillas, etc). You can go to social outings, of course. If you aren't sure about something, get a tiny portion and eat SLOW. when I was learning, I'd eat a food and think "that went down good", then five minutes later be stuck. Lol. It's a learning experience for sure. And everyone is different. Like I said while you're learning... Small portions, small bites. Chew a lot.

Rash all on my face and neck!!???

I don't think a rash could be directly related to the band. Indirectly like the aforementioned example is possible. I'd go to an allergist if I were you... Could be food or environmental. You never know!!!!

  20. She is right, back to basics, 100%. Pretend like you're a newbie!! It's okay to "reset" yourself from time to time. It helps!
